Need legal advice regarding your Louisiana Divorce? We are ready to help. Claire Edwards is ready to advise her clients on whether they should pursue a 102 divorce or a 103 divorce. She can help explain all the procedures and steps to the divorce process. People in the Lafayette area need to follow specific Louisiana Divorce procedures.
Collaborative divorce is a process that allows parties to come together with a mental health professional, a financial professional, and attorneys to come to the best settlement options for themselves and their children. Collaborative law is a voluntary process. All parties must agree to participate.
But for FAMILY LAW, I want clients and potential clients to know there's more to it. Because it's your life. You're making huge choices that will affect your future. So once we get a client who knows what they want, knows their spouse isn't going to drag them through court if they disagree, and who may even get their own attorney to approve documents we draft for our client, we want to do settlement negotiations with document prep for them.
Divorce Doula is family law coaching, coming either in our 12-week program or in individual sessions focused on meeting your needs. They are different from attorneys, because, while attorneys lead with their expertise and give advice about how to accomplish specific outcomes, coaches avoid giving advice.

I recently moved to the area and contacted Claire to represent me in a contempt of court case. I was extremely disappointed with the entire experience from day one. She used foul language during our consult which to me was very unprofessional. She agreed that I would pay a small retainer and then she would bill me as the case progressed. A couple of weeks into it, before exhausting the retainer, she decided that she wanted more money upfront. She said she felt “uneasy”. This went against the contract that I signed with her. During this conversation, she also stated that even if we won the case

Claire met with me at a consultation, and I was really relieved to be able to discuss what was going on. Her compassion and understanding was really helpful, and I was so glad they walked me through what to expect in a divorce and custody matter.

Was not impressed at all. Completely unprepared for every court date. Was condescending and rude. Did not treat me with any respect, nor put any effort in to my case. Could not get an appointment with her to discuss case after trying to set one 3 times. A family friend who heard my case ended up making some calls and getting it dismissed. Do yourself a favor and find another lawyer, you can't get much worse than her.

I have a high regard for Attorney Edwards. Yes, she asked for a deposit but she refunded the money that she didn't use after the case was closed. Unlike the two lawyers that I have seek for legal assistance, she was able to close my case in a few months. She didn't use intimidation, she gave me options on what is best for me. She also made sure that there weren't any loop holes. My only regret is that I didn't find her right away - I could have save a lot of money and avoided a lot of stress. May God bless you Attorney Edwards.
