Established in 1973, Methodist Early Childhood Education (MECE) Preschool and Kindergarten is a non-profit school operating on the East Campus of the First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. Under the leadership of Cathy Herschelman, Director, MECE is planned with keen awareness of the special characteristics, needs, interests, and way of learning of the young child.
With loving teachers, MECE seeks to promote the child's spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social-emotional maturity in an atmosphere which reflects basic religious values common to both the Methodist Church and other Christian religions. The program provides appropriate developmental activities for each child in the areas of language arts, math, science, art, music, and physical education.

Services
Kindergarten class begins and ends in accordance with the Palm Beach County school calendar. The Kindergarten day is from 9 am-2 pm. Sibling Discount: MECE offers a 10% discount on tuition for the younger student when a family has multiple students attending MECE Preschool or Kindergarten. Marvelous Mondays- If your student is enrolled in a 2 day or 4 day program and is potty trained, they are eligible to enroll in Marvelous Mondays.
Director: Cathy Herschelman has been working as a MECE Administrator since 2006 and took over as Director in 2012. Prior to that, she was an Administrator at the Methodist Preschool in Lawrenceville, GA, bringing ten years of experience as a twos and threes teacher to the position and also served as a mentor and trainer for new teachers.

MECE requires a signature from the authorized parent or guardian who is dropping off or picking up your child.

Very abrupt lady on the phone. I called to ask about their school as I am new to the area and the moment I mentioned I had a VPK certificate she cut me off, told me they don’t do that, state funding isn’t worth their while and I should look for a daycare. Excuse me? Next time please allow the customer to finish talking without belittling the person who is a professional and able to pay tuition for the right school that would fit her family needs. Very disappointed with how that call was handled.
