This rigorous and true-to-life training became the groundwork upon which he built his future vision, which eventually culminated into a more serious and effective approach to martial arts. Sam Marcellini later trained with Grandmaster Gene Brigham.
Some of the greatest teachings the Grandmaster passed on were the spiritual and philosophical side of martial arts; this sparked a passion in him that led to decades of research on eastern philosophies and the mental growth developed through martial arts, providing him with a balance that gives him a definite advantage as an educator and instructor.At the age of 19 Sam already had years of experience and was teaching martial arts.

Sam Marcellini's program works hand-in hand with a child's schoolwork. His program develops self-discipline, self confidence, mental alertness, and goal setting skills. At Marcellini's Martial Arts Academy, young people are taught that through dedicated, intense work, all worthwhile goals in life are possible.
Our students develop high levels of self-defense skills in a short amount of time. They are taught the most efficient techniques that have been used successfully by some of the world's greatest Martial Artists in the toughest competitions known to mankind. The techniques are passed down directly from these Martial Artists and their certified instructors.

I've trained under Sam since 2006. Initially, I didn't believe Royce Gracie had a school in Moreno Valley. But after checking it out in person and getting to train with Sam and Royce, I was hooked!
Jiu jitsu has been a blessing in my life from the level of fitness I have attained, the ability to keep myself safe in a violent encounter, and the friendships I've gained over the years from training.
The school has some very tough guys, but the atmosphere is always very welcoming and friendly. There aren't any bad attitudes on the mats and his advanced students are always eager to help newer students

Sam teaches more than just how to defend yourself. He teaches you how to defuse a bad situation. He teaches confidence in yourself. I love everything about this class. Sam makes every class fun. The attitude of everyone here is helpful and patient. I can’t say enough good things things about Sam and his schools.

Summary: Marcellini’s martial arts academy is great. The instructor (Sam Marcellini) is amazing. Training is very comprehensive and well-rounded. If you have had a bad experience with a school or instructor, or if you want to learn self-defense, I would encourage you to come to Marcellini’s and meet Sam.

Marcellini's Martial Arts Academy is a genuinely special place. The lead instructor, Sam Marcellini, is an incredibly skilled martial artist as well as a gifted teacher (the two don't always go hand in hand!). Furthermore, the facilities are always clean, and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. I really can't recommend it enough.
