Services
At Tustin Pediatric Dentistry we have three Board Certified pediatric dentists. Board Certification means that they have undergone a significant amount of specialized training to gain this prestigious title. Our patients know that we are dedicated to providing excellence of care in a safe, gentle and caring environment.
The work that the dentist does to maintain your child's smile is very important. To safeguard a child's health and wellbeing and set them up for a lifetime of optimal oral health, a team effort between the parent, child and dentist is essential. The dentist should teach parents how to properly instruct their children to brush and floss, thus reinforcing the lessons and instructions given while at periodic dental examinations.
Fluoride is one of the many essential building blocks that a growing child with developing teeth needs in order to form and maintain healthy teeth. The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) now adds the very small correct concentration of fluoride to our drinking water.

For children who do not drink tap water or use certain types of filtering devices, fluoride may be prescribed in tablet form to obtain the same benefit to the teeth as those who drink fluoride water. It helps to remineralize teeth that have lost essential elements; mainly calcium. Demineralization, the loss of minerals in tooth enamel, occurs in everyone's mouth.
The most valuable procedures that the pediatric dentist performs in his or her office are those that are directed to prevention of disease. A better understanding and utilization of the true importance of prevention dental care would result in a significant decrease in dental disease.

Over and above the techniques your family employs at home, parents should make a point to seek the dentist's help on a regular basis so ensure the best results for their children. You have probably heard of the saying: "Prevention is nine-tenths of the cure". It is certainly true in dentistry.
Anticipatory Guidance is essentially informing parents and patients about outcomes and events that may occur in the ensuing 6 months before their next regular recall visit. Dentists are trained to have the theoretical and practical knowledge to identify the presence and onset of disease and differentiate that from normal growth and development milestones.

Dr. Kathy is AMAZING! She makes my toddler feel so comfortable! She’s 3 and had her first cleaning with few tears thanks to Dr. Kathy. We are moving to Orange, but will still stay with this practice.

There is something wonderful about having a dentist you trust and like. And even better when your kids feel the same! My 3 year-old got her broken tooth pulled out today and while she was scared and cried during the procedure she did a great job and Dr. Kathy is efficient and caring. I would highly recommend her. My daughter is now happily enjoying a popsicle and fascinated by her tooth. Thank you, Dr. Kathy!
