This is a sit down Restraurant- not a taco shop or fast food. So with that said . I got my food is 15- 20min - gave me time to sit with my wife.
FRIDAY- I had fish tacos - when I got my plate you can tell the the fish is in-house breaded - not frozen . AMAZING! It had too much cabbage - easy fix by taking it off my self .
The rice was super fresh and the beans also!
My wife raved about her tortilla soup.
Same weekend Sunday Returned;
Chorizo papas - once again amazing! Flower tortillas was so-so but the food is top notch!
what I realized, the plate was normal room temp, which means it was

This place is very accommodating if you have to modify the menu. I get the combo with the chicken taco and chili relleno. Chips and salsa are addicting so be aware! Chips and salsa and genuine Mexican flavors. You'll enjoy Irma's friendliness and a colorful setting. I love to cook Mexican but Rancho Grande puts much more out there!

The food is always excellent! Love the chips and salsa and great service. Chili verde, carne, pollo asada and bacon wrapped camarones are all delicious! They will custom make burritos and chimichangas if you ask. There are daily specials and the coupon in the Local Flavor magazine is usually up to $15 off a second entree. Great place!

We have been customers of Ranch Grande
for some time now - don't pay attention to the old reviews as over the last couple of years the food and the service have really improved. We are always treated like family and the wait staff knows what we like when we sit down. Their carnitas are some the best we have ever had - the portions are good and the prices are fair. Give this place a try - you will become a regular!

Found this place from Get1free ad and wanted to try it because of the coupon I'm so glad we did because they actually have my favorite seafood soup. Marisol the sever was great and very accommodating. I'm surprised that the place is not full on a Friday night, because food was great and even the severs. Will definitely come back.

First Impressions: There are three areas, a restaurant, a bar/dace space, and a small outside patio. This is a sweet little hole in wall kind of place. It will remind you of your grandmothers home, right down too the matching plastic table place mats.
The Service: The actually seemed to be understaffed for a Friday night, but the whole team worked well together and everyone was kind and as attentive as they could be.

I've been coming here for a little over five years. Recently they've undergone new management and there prices have increased drastically. The prices used to be very fair and modest, a place you could go to a few times a week. The food was delicious and the outside patio is the perfect place to enjoy a nice meal. But since the new management the food isn't worth the extra $10 they added to each meal. 14.99 for 2 fish tacos rice and beans is a little steep if you ask me! Next time I have a craving for fish tacos I'll be going to rubios. Such a bummer. Even their micheladas lost

My wife and I are trying out different Mexican restaurants for a change so the other night we decided to stop by Rancho Grande. We tried the place years ago and were not that impressed but we heard they had new owners so we tried again. My wife had the beef Chimichanga and I had the Enchiladas. I was really surprised the lack of flavor the food had. I don't think they use any spices when they cook. The prices are also a little high for the serving size you get. Server was good and the restaurant itself is comfortable but again lack of flavor and portion size disappointing.

Great place to come with a big group. Friendly service, great green salsa. Happy hour sun-thurs 3-7, margaritas $4! They don't water them down either... food was delicious! Everyone in our group of 10 was happy! I got the ceviche tostada which went great with my margarita, and a chicken sope - comfort food!

Something weird is going on with Yelp and Rancho Grande. One-star reviews? Or Yelp not showing this place on even its first 4 pages when you search "Mexican Food in Vista, CA"? Or Yelp still showing closed down Captain's Port when you search on a map on Yelp for Mexican in the area? Fishy if you ask me.
THIS PLACE HAS THE. BEST. BURRITOS in town! The burritos come with cheese, pico, guac, and meat. So they are not the biggest but given there is no filler beans and rice, it has TWICE as much meat as your average super burrito. It tastes almost as good as the burritos at La Taqueria

I can't believe the 5 star reviews on here, this place is 2 stars at best. Worst salsa I have ever been served, and when that's the first thing you serve someone, big mistake! Salsa is one of the easiest things to get right! Watery and no taste, crap from a can, it's either a lazy thing or a cost cutting thing, whatever it is it's a bad thing! Only rice I have ever left on a plate, nasty mushy beef in the tacos. Don't have to wonder when I pass it all the time anymore, just keep passing it.

Come here all the time. The service is really great! We usually get the shrimp cocktail which is huge and full of shrimp but today I got the 5 rolled tacos for lunch. They gave a decent sized portion of lettuce and cheese and a ton of guacamole. The portions here are big and the restaurant itself is very cute. I went to the bathroom here for the first time and it was so clean and kept, I was very impressed.
