I have a very distinctive touch: completely fluid while maintaining a deep, consistent pressure. My focus is on pain relief and relaxation. My massage is designed to meet your specific needs. It combines the relaxing flow of swedish with the muscle relief and concentration of deep tissue massage. I incorporate Thai stretches and can offer suggestions of yoga poses that can help loosen specific target areas that are causing pain or discomfort.
Deep tissue uses many of the same movements as Swedish massage, but the pressure is more intense and the intent is more focused. This is my preferred modality and offers the most relief to knotted, sore, and painful muscles. Being the mother of 2, I understand the discomfort and pain that can occur as a woman's body grows and changes with a developing pregnancy.

I received a BA and a MA in English literature with the intention of becoming a high school English teacher. I joined the Peace Corps after graduate school and served 27 months in Nepal as an English teacher and teacher trainer. When I returned to the US I moved to Newport, RI and began my life as an English teacher.

Yesterday I decided to have a nice relaxing massage. I chose The MassaGe Room because of the great reviews it has. It was dangerously bad. I said I wanted medium pressure. She massaged me so hard I have bruises. My back and shoulders really hurt. To say it was bad is an understatement. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

When you are asked first what problems or issues you are having, then you know you are in good hands. This was a first class massage, great firmness all over and sensitive to the ask. Can definitely alternate and mix styles. I had a bit of Swedish with elements of Thai stretch. I travel extensively and so I'm often in need of a massage from someone that knows what they are doing. Great massage, highly recommended.

The massage not to par. If you charge over a $100 an hour you have to count with experience and skill to customize your session to the client needs instead of going through the regular routine with respect to the time. That's for entry level massage therapists. Also, your techniques must flow and perception of troubles areas on point. Went in hopeful based on perfect reviews but left disappointed. Again, nice lady but overcharging based on skill level in my opinion.

Serena is quite simply the best massage therapist I have ever had the good fortune to meet. I have had massages my whole life across who knows how many countries, spas and locations and she is simply as good as it gets.
She has an intuitive understanding of the body, she truly can do deep tissue work, she has the strength and knowledge to really pin point issues and solve them and she is a wonderful person to boot.
Her prices are reasonable and her experience is amazing. She is a one woman massage guru!!

Five star massage and experience! Serena gave me one of the best massages of my life. I was debating going to a hotel spa for the whole spa environment but I didn't want to risk having a mediocre massage (I find hotel spa services are hit or miss in Miami). I am so happy I chose Serena because the massage was top notch. The pressure, touch and attention to detail was amazing and I loved the rose scented massage oil. It was easy to book last minute over text messaging which was very appreciated and the location is very central near the beach on Lincoln Road.

Serena is amazing!! Strong enough to go deep if you want it but sensitive enough to give you exactly what your body needs. Her studio is lovely and peaceful, conveniently located in the heart of South Beach and her massage style is confident and intuitive. I usually don't get massages when I travel because they are over priced and disappointing. I'm so glad I decided to try the Massage Room! This was one of the best massages I've ever gotten, and I've gotten a lot. Serena has a firm hand, but is very responsive and lightens the pressure as needed. If you are in Miami and looking for a great massage, come here!

Serena is truly a gifted body-worker. I've had literally 300+ massages... I would describe her style as "intuitive massage". She naturally senses what needs work, how much pressure, etc.
I often I find myself asking massage therapists to "go deeper"... Serena seemed to intuitively know exactly how much pressure my skeletal and muscular structure needed, at all times. Very strong, very gentle also - a perfect combination to truly get muscles to release.

Serena has no fear and is very confident, articulate and intentional in her massage techniques. I told her I like deep pressure and she didn't mess around. The massage was perfect. Exactly what I asked for. She was also very accommodating and got me in the same day I called. I know that can be hard to do sometimes when you are a one person business.

My wife and I were in South Beach on vacation. We both get massages regularly at home and decided to look for one here. I called requesting a massage for two and left a message. Serena replied quickly. She said she could do back to back 90 minutes but she was a sole provider. Serena used a light oil and really smoothed out my stuff areas with long deep movements. For me that gives long lasting results that I can feel for weeks after.

Once again I find myself in the odd situation that I give 5 stars on my first visit to a place. I really want to try places more than once to ensure consistency but in this case i will make an exception.
Serena is awesome, a true professional, she know her trade and executes it perfectly. I suffered several traumatic injuries during my time in the service and live every day in pain. It sucks but sometimes the pain affects my mobility a bit more than usual. However, Serena is a great masseuse, she worked my back and shoulders until the pain and spasms went away.
I hope she stays in business
