The demand for Certified, Licensed Massage Therapist is always growing. There are approximately 350 types of massage modalities, ensuring each individual student will be able to find a niche style that compliments them, or a litany of different types for those who want to branch out. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand is expected to grow by 26 percent from 2020-2025.
This course is a prerequisite to the rest of the program and is designed to give the students an informative history of massage therapy. Sanitation and safety issues are also discussed. Students also will learn the basic Swedish stroke and how to be able to apply a full body massage, and a basic knowledge of indications and contraindications.
Arla Markael purchased North Idaho Massage Academy because she fell in love with the students and staff. Arla, who is heart centric, gets excited at how this education helps heal people physically and emotionally. An educator herself, with her Bachelors in Secondary Education from University of Idaho, Arla deeply appreciates the educational process that students go through as massage therapists, and seeks to make it as beneficial as possible.
The first step to your career in Massage Therapy is to apply for Admissions to NIMA. Applications to NIMA are accepted without discrimination on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age, religion, or disability. Be in good health and free of conditions that would be communicable or prohibit giving and receiving massage.
The cost of tuition is all inclusive and consists of text books, NIMA uniform, Lotion & Holster for student use, Linens for student use, and State Licensing Fee. This place is amazing!!!! I had a massage by the students yesterday with the oversight of Christopher and it was Amazing. They were learning a few different techniques and It was a great massage. I think I almost fell asleep. Upon leaving I had mentioned my right side didn’t get as stretched as the left and Christopher stopped what he was doing and stretched me right then and there before I left. He truly has a passion for massage and his leadership in this school and in his students shines through the work done here. Definitely come and give them a chance. You won’t be disappointed!!! ❤️
