Our divorce was put on hold by my wife. Christine told my now Ex wife we had two years to use the $2,600 to re file anytime between now and two years.
She told my ex wife to have me rip the papers up and throw them away when I was served. We found out yesterday we have been divorced as of the 19th of June. My partner makes a phone call to her… furious and her words are “well are ya together”.? Yes. “We’ll hunnie your divorced, all I can tell ya is go to the justice of the peace”.
This is a huge deal to us and are VERY disappointed she did not do what my wife

Mrs. Remy handled our custody case earlier this month. The case was a bit complicated because the original custody agreement and divorce decree was filed in Texas, the kids' mother moved to New Orleans, and we live in Illinois. Ms. Remy was able to get the proper paperwork filed, and conducted the case in a way that resulted in us not even having to have a full court hearing. She talked tot he other party's lawyer about the evidence we had and the witnesses who would be providing testimony, and the other party decided to just come to a settlement. After my experience I felt taken advantage of. I spoke to Ms. Remy prior to filing for divorce and informed her that my wife was not going to be seeking any alimony or any of my assets. The very next thing she told me was that it would be in my best interest to go with a flat fee over a billable hour payment scheme. The flat fee was quite large but I was not really in a state of mind to question it. Everything went through fine without any need to go to court after our six month separation.
