Services
We are honored to have an experienced dental team with some of the best in clinical and administrative staff in central Georgia. Our friendly professionals want to provide you with the most comfortable and efficient dental experience possible. We are ready to assist you with any questions you may have concerning your oral health.
Oral hygiene habits are critical to protecting teeth and gums from their biggest enemy, no matter your age - plaque. Plaque is a soft and colorless film that coats the teeth. The bacteria in plaque feeds on sugars and starches form the foods and beverages you consume and can produce acids that eat away at tooth enamel.
We believe in fluoride for all ages, as fluoride is a lifelong preventative measure for optimal oral hygiene. A fluoride treatment is usually a rinse, foam, gel or varnish that is a highly concentrated form of fluoride which is applied to the tooth's surface. The application is fast and painless, and we usually ask that patients avoid eating or drinking for an hour after a fluoride treatment.
If the gums become infected or diseased, the consequences can affect the soft tissue and bone supporting the teeth. Gum disease also raises the risk of serious systemic health problems, like heart disease and diabetes. Periodontal disease is caused by the bacteria in plaque and tartar left on the teeth.
Your temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, is the joint directly in front of your ear. It is a hinge that connects your jaw to your skull. The TMJ is one of the body's most complex set of joints and is made up of bone, muscle, blood vessels and nerves. The TMJ controls all the functions of the mouth including chewing, biting, swallowing, yawning, talking, and all facial expressions.
