Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts Of Redwood City
My daughter and I love the classes at RWC Martial Arts Center. The biggest factor is the quality of the teaching - patient and understanding yet always striving for excellence. We love that there is a "family class" on the schedule, where my daughter and I can learn together. This class is fast becoming one of our favorite joint activities.

Like many parents, I didn't know much about choosing a martial arts instructor. Friends who knew more pointed us to Master Hafez, some focusing on his skill as instructor and others highlighting the value of Kuk Sool as a discipline. But their advice served mostly to ratify our choice based on proximity.

Kuk Sool Won is a systematic study of all of the traditional fighting arts, which together comprise the martial arts history of Korea. As a martial arts system, Kuk Sool Won is exteremely well-organized; and seeks to integrate and explore the entire spectrum of established Asian fighting arts and body conditioning techniques, as well as mental development and traditional weapons training.
I checked out 6 dojos for my 6 year old before deciding on this- the kung fu on el camino, one in belmont, another tae kwon do in industrial area of redwood city, etc.

However, other guys wanted $1200 upfront, high pressure sales, loud music, 3 classes going on at once, 20 kids per class, high school kids teaching, etc. the teacher at RWC kuk sool won was not like that, very down to earth and no typical sales pitch, and genuinely interested in teaching your child. My daughter and I love the classes at RWC Martial Arts Center.

Four years later, I'm certain we made the right decision, even if for the wrong reasons. The convenience has indeed been nice. I've now read up a bit more, and Kuk Sool probably is a great discipline, for a few reasons. And Master Hafez certainly is technically skilled, both as practitioner and

This place is wonderful! It is small enough that the teacher can effectively manage the classes, but big enough for my son (5.5) to get social interactions with other kids. Master Hafez is great with kids, and i find it quite different from the "crazy and loud" class my son attended at a different studio in the past. I highly recommend classes here!
