In 1946, A.O. Patterson returned from serving in World War II to open Patterson Funeral Home. He was the sole owner until 1968 when Melvin and Betty McCoy became a partner. The name of the funeral home changed to Patterson-McCoy Funeral Home. In 1970, Melvin and Betty became sole owners upon the passing of Mr. Patterson. The name was changed to McCoy Funeral Home. The business is now owned by Melvin and Betty's son, Dan McCoy, and son-in-law, Danny Wann. Since 1946, the funeral home has been family owned and operated.
