Do you ever experience a sudden change in your emotions, where one moment things seemed like they were going okay and then what seems like out of nowhere, you are overwhelmed by a deep sense of panic, dread, or anger? Has traditional talk therapy not been as effective as you had thought it would be?

Or are you someone who is looking to take action to improve your quality of life? My name is Anthony Johnston (Pronouns: He/Him) and I am licensed in New York State as a clinical social worker (LCSW). I provide individual therapy for adults in a small practice located in Ithaca, NY. Some of my specialties include addictive behavior, trauma, and LGBTQ+ issues.

My name is Anthony and I am a clinical social worker licensed in New York State. I have been practicing in this field since 2015, which is when I completed my Master's in Social Work at State University of New York at Binghamton. However, my path to adapting and learning to empower others to overcome adversities began well before that during my time as a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) and SUNY Cortland.
At this time, I do not participate In-Network with insurance panels. I will work with you to help you to use your Out-of-Network Benefits through your insurance plan. Individual sessions run for a "50-minute hour" and my fee is $120, which is due at the time of service. Some sessions, although, may be longer or more or less frequent.
The EMDR International Association is a professional association where EMDR therapy practitioners and EMDR therapy researchers seek the highest standards for the clinical use of EMDR.

This Mindfulness App has 40,000+ meditations, exercises, sounds, music, and tools that are free to use and are a great adjunct to therapy. 10 minutes a day of mindfulness practices can help solidify pathways in your brain that allow you to be more aware, present, and calm.
119 W. Buffalo Street is only 3 blocks away from the commons in Ithaca, NY, making it very accessible to bus, pedestrian, car, and walking traffic. There is 2-hour street parking located adjacent to the building, both metered (M-F until 6PM) and non-metered. I share a waiting area with a few other healing-arts practitioners in the building and you are welcome to stop in to relax before our appointment.
