Yamabe brought more than 10 years' experience in municipal engineering and Horn more than five years' experience in private sector engineering to their own company, a combination that proved itself integral to the continued success of the firm.
Although the principals wore overcoats in the office during their first winter in business to economize on the heating bill, 35 years after Yamabe and Horn opened for business the firm grew from a two-man office to a staff of 38 employees, including licensed civil engineers, licensed land surveyors, designers, GIS specialists, CAD operators, survey crew members and clerical staff.
