Lighthouse Healing Massage Therapy was born out of necessity. Kara needed a more focused opportunity to help people heal, outside of the confines of a conventional business like a spa or gym. She believes that the body has infinite wisdom and has the ability to heal itself. It just needs a little guidance, a little space and time, and an occasional nudging.

Each of these highly therapeutic forms of massage is an excellent way to restore and maintain one's health and overall well being. In addition to promoting relaxation and de-stressing, Swedish and deep tissue massage are also ideal in speeding the recovery of many physical ailments including sports injuries, back problems, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder and tight or tense muscles.
Along with the joy of pregnancy come physical and emotional changes like anxiety, stress, fatigue, edema (swelling), sciatica and lower back pain. For thousands of years, massage has been used to ease these, and many other symptoms, facilitating the healthiest, most enjoyable pregnancy possible for both mommy and baby (this makes Daddy happy too!).
Shamanism is the most ancient form of healing, practiced by people around the world. Entering a "non-ordinary" reality, shamans request help from spirits who love us and want us to be healed, and whole. Modern shamanic healing is complementary to modern medicine and massage. Shamanism can accelerate the effectiveness of other therapies, removing impediments and facilitating healing.
With the advent of social distancing, many clients have been asking for remote shamanic healing. I'm happy to say that I'm offering four different types of shamanic healing sessions for you to choose from. All of them will be facilitated through Zoom or FaceTime. In addition, a spiritual prescription is included at the end of all of these practices (detailed below).
You're never too young to start enjoying the benefits of a good massage - and who better to give you one than mommy or daddy! Lighthouse Healing teaches parents how to care for their babies with infant massage. It's a wonderful way to take an active role in the well being of your children, helping them lead happy, healthy lives.

I had my first massage by Kara, and it was sensational. She ensured to focus on areas that were most needed, and was also able to find areas of tension without me saying anything. It was a very relaxing and satisfying massage. I’ve had massages from coast to coast and in between, and she provided one of the best massages that I've ever had.

I was quite impressed! I came here after 4 different places had made my back feel worse. Not only was Kara super nice but she helped me so much! My back felt so much better after my first hour long session. She was amazing and super professional. Highly experienced and talented. I found her after reading so many good Google reviews. I am so glad I found Lighthouse Healing. Kara is amazing and has helped me so much! I didn't know what to expect with a shamanic healing session, but I am so so glad I went. I went in for a very specific concern, not knowing that Kara worked on another area that improved the area of concern! Kara is extremely knowledgeable about the body and I felt 10 times lighter in mind/body after I left. Kara is without a doubt the most skilled massage therapist in the Madison area. If you are looking for a true healer, with gifted hands and an amazing ability to find exactly the right spots to work on, look no further.
