Therefore, we work closely with you to provide high-quality, compassionate care for your dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and other pets. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and calm, so your pet can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting our veterinarians. We are happy to offer a number of resources that enable you to learn about how to take better care of your pets.

Services
Our doctors can do most anything from a physical exam of your pet to performing emergency surgery. We are fully equipped to handle most any problem! We offer appointments or drop off exams for those of you who work long hours or have a lot of after school activities! You can drop you pet off as early as 7:30 am.
In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
By spaying or neutering your pet, you'll help control the pet homelessness crisis, which results in millions of healthy dogs and cats being euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren't enough homes to go around. There are also medical and behavioral benefits to spaying (female pets) and neutering (male pets) your animals.
Pets are life-long commitments, and keeping a pet happy, healthy, fed, and well-exercised requires time and money. In order to pick the right pet for you, one must consider your lifestyle, living situation, and how much care you are able or willing to provide. Some pets require very little interaction with their owners, while others need almost constant companionship!

I have been using Dykes Veterinary Clinic for over 6 years, but I unfortunately cannot recommend them any longer.
The staff is friendly and doctors are excellent, but they routinely over book to the point of waiting an unreasonable amount of time for scheduled appointments.
The last 4 appointments (all scheduled in advance) we were forced to wait in the car for over and hour after the time given. When waiting today we were told by one of the assistants that they were "triplebooked for today".
I went in to the office to request an update and there were still 2 patients ahead of us. After stating

I am very pleased with the care my dog has received. The doctors are very thorough and explained everything to me where I could understand. And answered all questions I have asked. I also boarded her for 8 days and was pleased with that as well! Especially the price! It was half of the price based on the other quotes I have gotten.. and i felt more comfortable knowing she was well taken care of and was at her vet if there was an issue of any kind!! I think all the prices I've encountered so far have been reasonable and less than I was paying at my previous vet.
Yes they are very busy! And you

I called one morning to ask about dropping off my parrot for a toenail, wing and beak trim. The lady who answered the phone told me if I could come in between 2:00 and 3:30 that afternoon, they would work me in. I got there at 2:10 and was told at the front desk that they were no longer taking drop-offs. This review is no reflection on the veterinarians in the practice, as they are said to deliver good pet care. Rather, I think it's very poor communications by the front desk people. I'll go elsewhere.

Dr. Walker was on call last night when my Boxer went into severe distress. He and his staff were the most sensitive and caring veterinarians I have ever encountered. If you are looking for a vet that really cares deeply about what they do, their patients, and their family, take them here. I feel very blessed to have had met Dr. Walker and his staff and to have him to care for my furry baby last night.

A family member took 1 of her 4 labs in to be spayed.... she was healthy and full of life! They Mistook Her For Another Dog Then Euthanized her... no phone call no nothing... then the tech that made this mistake couldn't even own up to it and apologize in person!!! There Was No Remorse, Just "people make mistakes" so with a heavy heart she had to pick up her beloved animal and bury her at home... this SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!! no precautions, no fail safes, just out right incompetence on their part..FOR SHAME!

I took my puppy here and I absolutely loved Dykes. My veterinarian took the time to talk to me and he was just as interested in my puppy as I was. They truly care here and have such affordable prices! Cheapest clinic I have been to by far. My puppy's spay was around $200 and I was very pleased with her treatment. On thanksgiving week I was able to get seen and get a nail trim immediately. We had to move due to being in the military, but we loved Dykes.

This is a fairly busy clinic, requiring some wait time. Given the quality of care by the veterinarians, I would gladly wait here before venturing to any other clinic in the area.
My family and I have used this vet clinic for countless years, with several animals. These doctors genuinely care about mine and my family's animals. They have provided me with medical advice, medical treatments, and have even stood and cried with my family as we had to have our dog put to sleep.
I have recently moved away from the area but still return to this clinic for advice and for medical treatments because

This is not your average veterinary clinic! They truly treat your babies like their own family! When I first got Chico as a tiny pup over a year ago & was in a store getting his supplies, I just mentioned needing to find a good vet for my new baby while talking the cashier, she referred me to Dykes. And when my Chico got into "something" which caused his face & eyes to swell, I called frantically knowing it was late, well after business hours. The on call doctor told me what to do & reassured me if it would make me more at ease, he would meet me at the clinic to check Chico

The vets here are good. Having said that. I have been here 4 times now Never less than a 45 minute wait in the lobby. By the time I see a vet and get the meds for my dogs, it is between an hour and a half to 2 hours before we leave. Today. I had a young lady at the front desk get totally disrespectful and talked down to me. This place needs help with people treatment
Sitting here in a treatment room listening to young ladies laughing and having a good time while other people wait in the lobby

Dr. Langston at dykes animal clinic is AMAZING and truly cares about the animals and not monetary gain! He is very affordable and was so compassionate and understanding in our time of need! I highly recommend him to anyone! I drove over an hour to get to his office and can say it was worth every minute!! My dog is doing phenomenal after surgery all thanks to the staff at dykes! I am new to town & will definitely make Dyke's our new vet! I brought my puppy in yesterday for an emergency visit & I didn't have to wait at all! They were quick to help & very professional. Just 24hrs later she was back to normal! Turns out she ingested some type of chemical but the injections & the medicine made her better within hours! Thank you so so much!!!

All the doctors in this office are wonderful. They have taken care of our numerous dogs, my elderly cat, and my son's turtles! My oldest dog prefers Dr Dykes, my stubborn puppy prefers Dr Shriver, the cat sees...well he's old and grumpy so he has to get gas to be examined, and the turtle prefers Dr Walker. Yes turtles have preferences. The ladies in front are very personable and professional. Colton did a great job keeping my stubborn rambunctious bull mastiff mix under control.

We have brought our pets to David Dykes and Team for 29 years. Once in a blue moon we have used other local vets however we have always found ourselves coming back to Dykes. They maintain a compassionate and well equiped practice with a staff that goes out of their way to make everyone feel special. David and his carefully selected crew of Animal Lovers have watched over and cared for our Rhodesian Ridgebacks from birth to old age. We currently have 5 adults and 4 puppies. Thanks to Doc Langston, who is a Reproductive genuis we have been able to make the dreams of many carefully selected families

I need to let people know that my sweet Cleo died because I took her to Dykes Animal Hospital in Foley on Friday, because of swelling on the side of her mouth, and they prescribed an antiibiotic that killed her. When I took her to the vet's office, she was happy and rambunctious. We went to this veterinarian because we were forced to evacuate to a friend's house because of Hurricane Isaac. By using a syringe to drain the swollen place, the veterinarian noticed a little blood at the end of the syringe, and declared it an abscess, even though she was not running fever. I told him she had
