We are the administrators of the Portneuf Valley Family Center (PVFC). Our approach in the community is to develop with the consumer what they specifically need to be successful, help them discover what will work for them, and assist them along in their journey. PVFC has been in Pocatello since 2005 and in Soda Springs since 2010.
We have years of investment in working with the staff and consumers with PVFC. We are continually looking forward to the opportunity to create change, opportunity, and seek potential growth for our consumers and employees. We hope to continue to evolve and grow as a mental health facility where consumers can receive support and recovery options to be successful.

I am writing this horrible review as I have witnessed how poorly the owners (Rob & Charity) treat their employees. They do not value staff and treat them as they are disposable. The environment is one of fear and intimidation, Charity is a Bully. If anyone questions Charity she retaliates and places them on a "plan of action" which will ultimately lead to termination. Rob and Charity have received 2 week resignations and rather than allowing the employee to work they terminate the employee immediately. They keep the employees paychecks and earned paid time off and make it impossible to get their

The first person I talked to was very nice and kind. They told me it would be 4-6 weeks for an appointment. They didn't ask if I was immediate need or a crisis, but I said I could wait 4 weeks. 6 and half weeks later I got a call and was scheduled for an appointment. However, it was with a grad student that is my age and that I have mutal friends with. Which of course they didn't know that, so it's totally understandable. I did wish they had asked questions before hand to avoid this, since so many people go to ISU. I told them I would need another provider, and they said it would be another 8-10

I have been going to Portneuf Valley Family Center for a few years now. The staff and counselors are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. They take your well being very seriously, and are very proactive. They listen and work with you, to help you with what you need, and even things you may not realize you need. I have been going to therapy for many years, this place has helped me more than any of the other places combined.

Love Rob, PVFC, office staff, support services and even their billing. Each goes way above and beyond. While my own situation is quite unfortunate, my silver lining has been here. Safety, compassion, understanding and appropriate guidance seem to rule everything about this place and in every facet of their dealings.

If I could give zero stars that's what it would be. My granddaughter was seeing a counselor there who left the practice. I was assured by staff that her same appointment time would be available. I was also assured that it wouldn't be any longer than two to three weeks before she was assigned a new counselor. Now it's six to eight weeks before being reassigned a counselor and no guarantee that we can keep the same appointment time. Why not tell the truth up front?

I have been to a ton of different mental health centers in various cities, and I really like this place. Due to the pandemic I have only received telehealth appointments, but I have not felt the quality of care has been any less than if I were coming in to the office. If anything it is easier to make my appointments, as a mom. Getting scheduled for your first appointment is a little different than the average place, as other reviews have stated, they do not schedule you in the first time you call, but rather they call you when an appointment slot is available. It did not take long for me, but I

I highly recommend this place! These people are amazing!! My family has been recieving services from them for the past 10 years. There are many wonderful staff members we have had the privilege of working with and we love them! The receptionists are very friendly and super kind. They go out of their way all the time to make sure my children feel important, accepted and safe. The care we have received from this place through all the many years of counseling, medicine management, CBRS services, and others has been excellent!!

It took so long to make an appointment. They had me tell them what our problems were and then I had to wait a week for someone to decide they wanted us and call us back. That person's schedule didn't work with mine at all, so I got thrown back in the queue for another week.
The waiting room is not kid-friendly, which is surprising since they supposedly offer counseling for children. There is a tv very high up, and with how close the chairs are, it is difficult to watch it. The only show that ever played was inappropriate cartoons that I feel are for older kids or adults. The room is full of breakable

I only gave one star because there's not the option of giving zero. I tried for 10 days to make an appointment for counseling with this company. I had to call three times, was promised call backs, but the only call back I got was one trying to sign me up for extra services that I did not need. The person said they were Medicare services so I should take advantage of them. Why, when they're not needed? All I wanted was counseling, but they seemed very unwilling to make that happen.
