We recommend a two company structure with a Series LLC and a Traditional LLC. The Series LLC can be established in a state with strong charging order protection, like Texas, Wyoming, Nevada, or Delaware, and then used anywhere just like a normal LLC. The series LLC is the vault that holds all your assets, including your real estate.
We recommend using a Traditional LLC to hold your real estate syndication investments. Whereas other types of assets carry individual liability (like Single Family Homes), your syndication investments are already asset protected from internal attacks through the LLC that holds the underlying asset for the Limited Partners.

One Year update:
Unfortunately my account rep is no longer with the firm and haven’t been able to reach anyone for the last 2 months. Tried support, email and calling but no one has called back.
I hope they bring back a customer support representative otherwise it’s a bit risky to get in touch with them.

Its been about 3 months since I hired Royal Legal. I have followed Scott online and I am have a high degree of confidence and trust in him. I have a very demanding W-2 executive position. So I had hoped this would be a turn key and time saving relationship. I am sure they are doing the right things for me. However, the communications are confusing for me. I think they would do good to have a written living plan or dashboard. This way you can see what was done, when and how it all fits together.

I was skeptical when I researched RLS and their asset protection offerings. I was impressed with their initial consultation call and they certainly have experience and knowledge in the real estate domain which is why I signed up with them and paid a lot of money to set up trust and LLCs. After 2+ years and not able to get their time for a 30-min review call for the last year (I pay $499/yr for these bi-annual reviews), I realized that having expertise doesn't mean much if you cannot reach them or if they don't offer you any advise unless you come up with specific questions. Scott's company has been so helpful.
