Paul Pinto started making helmet decals in 1972 while he was a Manufacturing Engineer in San Diego, California and coached Pop Warner. He wanted to buy helmet decals for his team, but they were too expensive, so he set out on a quest to learn how to make them himself. Through trial and error Pinto Screen Prints was born.
For the next 18 years, Paul and Sandy Pinto raised two children while living in San Diego and both working full time, Paul as an Engineer and Sandy in the school district, while making helmet decals in the evenings and weekends. Their business grew from Pop Warner teams, to local High Schools and by 1980's he was providing decals to Colleges all over the United States.
