Services
The instructors at Kang's Taekwondo Academy in Walnut Creek, CA are certified to ensure that our martial arts classes are safe, effective and fun. They are trained to focus beyond the physical skills and experts at tailoring their lessons to fit any individual. Lessons are taught in an encouraging and positive style for maximum results.
Kid's Martial Arts provides self defense skills along with self-improvement and life skills. Martial arts training positively benefits every facet of life. Gary has a bit of a temper, but I've already noticed the change. He's more respectful to me. And his teachers can't believe it! He calls them "ma'am" and "sir".
Our program provides an experience of a combination of exercises for both the body and the mind. You will learn to train your body to develop a better and healthier lifestyle, increase flexibility and decrease muscle tension, create more energy in your day and experience weight loss. Nothing relieves stress more than good, hard exercise.
First, it helps them build habits and fond memories around exercise that will stick with them for life. That way they naturally make exercise part of their lives as adults. And second, it relieves stress, helps keep them calm, prevents diabetes and other weight-related conditions in children, and so much more.
1.5 hours of supervised fun and excitement you can relax and let our staff chaperone and supervise the kids - or get involved! There are plenty of fun activities for the parents to help out in too! You can expect non-stop games, activities, challenges, and even learning some martial arts the whole way through.

If I could give less then one star I would. They promise you reasonable pricing, then make you do an expensive contract. Which that's fine my child was having a good experience. As my child got higher in belt colors the class had one trainer to 25+kids. When I said something to the owner, she said they had volunteers to help, however there has been many times my son did not recieve help. Then he needs to by equipment to test for his next belt. Ummm they want you to buy their brand which is like$600. Well I bought a different brand for cheaper and they would not let my son test. It is ridiculous

My now 11.5 year old daughter (who has ADHD and an auditory processing disorder) attended for 3.5 years. Mr. And Mrs. Kang and the instructors have always treated us with respect and have always been very welcoming. The values they instill in the students and the amount of discipline that they strive for and the overall family like environment that they and the parents and children have built is what kept us going for so long. My daughter became more confident, stronger and she built great relationships with many students.

Kang's Tkd is the best academy for all families. My children love it, I even joined with my children. We truly feel like family there and i know that all the students and family who have joined this amazing academy feels the same way too:)

Okay .Mr Kan is all about the money as I said before he continues to withdraw money from our checking account even he did not allow us to continue going there jut because my complaint. He took the last payment in this 1 year contract.What he teaches is not true of self control and integrity.He hasn't display any of this skills in the inter action with us.We are so glad and relieved that this is over.I would look into this acedemy very careful before you send your kids there.

I totally agree with the comments...Kang's Taekwondo Academy is a rip off. I was not able to attend due to having a stroke and high blood pressure. I called their company several times to report this issue and even provided a doctors note which I presented to their son. I did not receive a call back until I left a voicemail stating that I would be placing a dispute with my credit card company.
In my opinion...these people or not ethical. I'd suggest you find another place to go to that will treat you with respect.

Really bad experience. My child attended the academy for three years. We loved it. I loved everything they were teaching these children. The instructor at the time was great also. Things did not end well after my child was injured and broke her wrist. She was scared to go back and she would cry herself to sleep. I explained this to the owner and he said he required a drs note.

IT SEEMS GREAT,BUT IT IS FAR FROM ANYTHING BUT..WORST ACADEMY AROUND.Mr Kang is all about 1.Dollars and for you to sign a 3/4 contract.Parents do not sign a 3/4 contract.2.There is no Honesty,Respect,Integrity from Mr Kang he just wants respect but doesn't like to give it in return.3.The quality of training for Sparring is not there.4.Students that have tested for Black Belt test the fee of $750 is a complete RIP OFF it should be about $250-$350 no more than that.5.Once you test for Black Belt Test you should get your Black Belt Certification from KUKKIWON from Korea in about 90 days or so

I thought the family was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about this discipline. My only gripe was the cost. At $200 a month I wasn't thrilled about missing a class due to my work schedule or just plain forgetting to go. Also, my child wasn't practicing outside of class. That's what happened to us and, as a result, I decided we weren't serious enough to pay this much money.
