We serve 5 counties in Northwest North Carolina. We are pleased to only offer evidence-based therapies (we rely on scientific evidence for guidance and decision-making). Our agency works primarily with children and adolescents, however we are also skilled and experienced to work with adults and families. We work closely with many human service entities, schools, and various practitioners to provide the best care possible for our patients. Services
I am a two-time graduate of Appalachian State University, having earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work. I am a Wilkes County native and have been serving children and families in western North Carolina for a decade. Through my professional experience I have come to recognize the toll which trauma and other adverse experiences can have on individuals and families.
We use the below listed treatment models to address issues around: ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder/Conduct Disorder, Assessment of Learning Disorders, Attachment Related Issues, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (Autism, Asperger's etc.), Parenting Skills, Grief and Loss, Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar, etc.), Anxiety Disorders (Panic Disorder, OCD, PTSD, etc.), History of Abuse, Substance Abuse Treatment, Trauma and PTSD.
The Board Certified-Tele-Mental Health Provider credential (BC-TMH) identifies those professionals who are uniquely trained in best practices for delivering traditional behavioral healthcare through technological means. BC-TMH credential holders have met nationally established tele-mental health criteria.
Kidpower is a global nonprofit leader dedicated to providing effective and empowering child protection, positive communication, and personal safety skills for all ages and abilities. Kidpower also encompasses Teenpower and Fullpower.
