Over the next few years the organization grew but World War II interrupted the business operations. After the war, since the founder was stationed at NAS Millington, Greenscape resumed business in Memphis with a three-acre nursery on Summer Avenue. By concentrating on custom landscape planting and maintenance, Greenscape developed a loyal clientele that kept returning for individualized, high quality landscape services.
Greenscape expanded to include a ten-acre nursery in Bartlett, Tennessee. Then, in 1952, recognizing a need for growing what were then unavailable specimen trees and shrubs, Greenscape acquired a 60-acre nursery in Arlington, Tennessee.
