At Smokey Bones, we specialize in three things: good food, good drinks, and good times. We are a bar and fire grill, but not necessarily in that order. We are grill masters who respect the power of the open flame. We like simple, yet flavorful recipes and believe marinating is not to be taken lightly.

This review is long overdue and I just cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. I went to visit family in New York and I had the pleasure of eating at Smokey Bones twice in the same visit. It was THAT good! Great steak, cooked perfectly. The skillet cornbread and the Korean pops are to die for! Great nachos and drinks. We had a large group both times and our waitresses went above and beyond to give us fantastic service. I wish that Smokey Bones would open a location in central New Jersey because it would do PHENOMENALLY in this busy area. There are no New Jersey locations and this

So my best friend and I decided instead of getting seafood we would try this place out. I have heard good things about the food.
So we decided Ok can't hurt to try.
Well my first impression when I walked in the place looked a bit dull. I'm not sure because it was raining and we were hungry , but it didn't have that vibe ,groovy energy. I decided to try the food anyway.
Some of the waiters were dressed up for Halloween which was pretty cool.
The waitress I think her name was Megan was very nice and helpful.

I will never patronize this restaurant again. I ordered the food on Grub Hub. First problem was the delivery was delayed - at first I didn't blame the restaurant but when the food was finally delivered an hour late the delivery guy told me the restaurant gave him and a previous delivery guy a hard time.
Fast forward to just opening up the bags of food. Everything was packaged well, but ICE COLD - also almost the entire order was week old & partially MOLDY food.
There were 5 entrees ordered and 1 appetizer. First entree was the 2 favorites combo - which included the Texas Brisket

Meh! This place was terrific 13-14 years ago. I first found the launch of this chain in Melbourne Beach Florida and it was great. About 14 years ago it came here to Long Island and the concept was great along with the food. Went in last night and it was busy and none of the staff knew what was going on which is understandable with the employment situation but the food was off and extremely salty. Up all night drinking water & seltzer. Lacking the smoke and flavor the way it use to be. There's a red lobster next door. That's your better bet instead of here. Overpriced also $29 for

Not crowded very slow service. Wrong dinner dropped off at table by someone other than waitress. A good 10-15 minutes later waitress shows up. Meal not touched. They did the right thing and took off the bill but was just looking forward to a nice night out. Also charged for premium margarita and ordered a regular one and left on the table as well as didn't feel like drinking without eating.

The restaurant is spacious and nice and the bar area is very nice too.
They have a large selection of different sauces. This time I ordered the 8 "Jumbo Wings" and a side, but I'm not sure why they call them jumbo wings because they were the regular little ones that you typically get. They tasted good but the small amount of food wasn't really worth it.

Sever was wonderful. He was very gracious explaining everything to us. I got the smoked turkey lunch special for $11.95. The turkey was very dry and could have used some moisture. I felt that it was sitting in a steam table and dried out. The table had several bottles of different flavor BBQ sauces which are tasty but I didn't want to douse the turkey in this. My two sides were broccoli and mash potatoes with gravy. This is a chain restaurant around the USA. Food is standard. Many TV's to watch the sport games. Looks like this would be a great place to hang with the guys to watch sports

This place was packed on a Saturday night. It was an hour wait, luckily the bar had two spots opened up. We were able to sit down right away and order drinks. I started with the Sauza Rita (regular margarita), didn't care too much for it. We then ordered loaded cheese fries to start and they were deliciously good. I saw they had the bone-fire and we decided to give it a try. We picked the one that is for two people. It was perfect for us two, we were stuffed that we couldn't fit dessert lol. When considering if you want top notch BBQ, or down the pipe average BBQ, just know that Smoky Bones is a chain, and be aware that you'll get ok food, and nothing spectacular. Not saying chain BBQ places can't be awesome, same are indeed. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a nice BBQ atmosphere in general. Ordered a "create your own combo", pulled pork sandwich, and two kids burgers. No real complaints overall, but don't have anything overly positive to say either. The food was ok, a bit salty actually, but average BBQ.
