Dr. Rooke is excited to meet your entire family, including the little ones! Dental and Medical offices can be very intimidating to children and Dr. Rooke believes it is important to start their positive experience while they are young. Unless there is evidence of problems or the child is complaining of pain, age 2-3 is the ideal time to start their visits.
Dr. Rooke believes that Preventive Dentistry, including routine professional dental hygiene appointments, is a key component to maintaining overall health and preventing oral pain. There have been many health issues such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, and chronic inflammatory disorders that are directly correlated with oral health status.
A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. New modern dental materials make it possible to restore most teeth with tooth colored composite fillings. If you have a tooth that requires a filling, the dentist will first remove the decay, clean the affected area, and bond the composite filling material in place.
Whitening your teeth is a simple way to update your smile. Over time, teeth become discolored by a variety of factors, some of which are aging and consumption of staining substances like coffee, tea, colas, red wine, and tobacco. These stains go deep, permeating the surface of the tooth's enamel. In order to get your teeth back to a lighter color, it is necessary to permeate the surface of the enamel with a whitening agent.
Crowns are used to restore and enhance teeth that are badly damaged, cracked or discolored. A crown, also referred to as a cap, not only strengthens a tooth, but it can dramatically improve a tooth's appearance, shape and alignment. All ceramic crowns are now highly translucent, so they look very natural.
