John Jacobson and Laurie Johnson were classmates at Oregon State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating together in 1990. Several times during veterinary school they discussed opening a practice together on the Southern Oregon coast. After taking associate positions in very busy mixed animal practices for a few years, they both felt they had gained enough experience and practical knowledge to start their own clinic.
Town and Country Animal Clinic serves the Southern Oregon Coastal Region providing high quality preventative, advanced and emergency services. Our team of highly trained and skilled veterinarians, certified veterinary technicians, assistants and support staff recognize the value of high quality care and understand that many of us consider our pets as family members.
Employment at Town and Country Animal Clinic is exciting and flexible. We offer part and full time employment opportunities with varying work days and hours; we accommodate time off needs whenever possible and understand the need for balance between home and work. Weekends and evenings are rotated throughout the staff.
At Town and Country Animal Clinic, you can expect state of the art medical care for your four-legged companions. We believe in nurturing the human-animal bond and creating a harmonious relationship between people and animals. You can expect to be greeted by a courteous receptionist, clean exam rooms, friendly doctors, and caring technicians.
Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.

A family members cat suddenly became ill on a Friday. The next morning, the cat had deteriorated more and we called 1st thing to try to get her seen on a emergency basis. Family was told that they were very busy and not sure if they could see her. Family called back around 11:30 am begging them to see the cat...again turned away but said they would inform the on duty vet of the situation. Called back at 2:00 pm and was told they just got back from lunch and would see it the vet could call us back. They also said they might could see the cat Sunday around 8:30a but not for sure. No call from vet

I can not say enough about Town and Country. They have been there for my fur babies through thick and thin. Always loving and professional. Even under the stress the pandemic caused they did their best to continue to put the animals first. Currently they are short on Veterinarians in our location in the world its hard to find and retain skilled help. Please put the word out our little town is looking for help. Town and Country gives my fur babies 100%.

We live over the border in California and made the trip up to Town and Country for our Great Pyrenees Anatolian Shepherd mix, it was where he was established when we adopted him. We continue to make the trip over the border to this clinic because of the professional and knowledgeable staff and doctors.

They are a very busy clinic but will fit you in for a same day visit fee (worth it if your fur kid needs it). They helped us with both of our cats when that time came. Very compassionate and helpful. This last… one they outdid themselves by answering a call at 10:30 at night and meeting us after 11:00. Our cat was dying and didn't want to go. She was panicked and starting to hurt herself. The doctor meet us and calmed her down and gently helped her pass. Forever grateful 🙏🏻

Hank was having some issues with his bowels for about a week. So I called hoping to get an appointment on Wednesday. However, there were no appointments available. So they had me bring Hank in at 2:00 and the worked him in between other appointments. I was very pleased that they were willing to get him in that day. Hank is my service dog has a pacemaker. So it is very important to me to keep him in the best health possible. I really appreciate Town and Country's staff and their willingness to help me with Hank's medical needs.

We recently took our baby girl to Dr. Chris for a knee injury. He took the time to explain in detail what our options were and he was wonderful with Molly. We are not only impressed with Dr. Chris but also with the friendly staff, clean waiting room and exam rooms. This is definitely where we will keep bringing our pets.
