Woodsong, Inc. is a custom homebuilding company located on Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands of northern Washington State. Founded by Burke and Barbara Thomas, Woodsong has been building fine homes across the Puget Sound area since 1982. In 1995 the company relocated to Orcas Island, and now is dedicated to building island homes in San Juan County.
Woodsong has its own custom wood shop, with the ability to fabricate custom cabinets, built-ins, handrails, mantels and furniture. Our employees are the backbone of our company, many of them working with us for over twenty years. Their hands-on dedication to the details of each project is unsurpassed.

We build homes that are truly unique resulting in a very personal living space to experience every day. Our homes are timeless in design with meticulous attention to detail and hand-craftsmanship. Who you are and what you like to do can play the most integral role in the design of your new home. We have built homes on non ferry serviced islands including Brown, Blakely, Crane & Stuart.
We interviewed a few builders on Orcas Island that had been recommended by our architect. After interviewing Burke Thomas, owner of Woodsong, Inc. construction, we knew we had the right builder. Calls to all the references led to delightful conversations with very happy customers! The choice was clear and we never regretted it.
