Services
Lawson Elser has designed over fifty church and religious structures in our thirty two year history, and we continue to add new religious projects to our experience each year. We are fortunate to have been the engineers on so many exciting and beautiful religious structures. Churches present special structural challenges and often involve large open sanctuary spaces that require long span structures.
Lawson Elser is proud to have been involved in many education projects including public elementary projects, high school level projects, and university buildings. We have designed entirely new structures, helped renovate existing buildings including historic structures, and have designed new additions to existing education facilities.
Lawson Elser has experience in the investigation and repair of building facades of all types including brick, terra cotta, stone, concrete, metal, cast iron, steel, wood and curtain wall systems. We can provide a ground based investigation, or an arms-length investigation from an aerial lift. Masonry investigation and restoration of the exterior of the historic Armory building on the campus of Purdue University.
Lawson Elser has completed hundreds of renovation projects involving existing buildings, many of which are classified as "Historic". We have extensive experience with investigating and adapting existing structures to new and exciting uses. It is the ultimate in "Recycling" to renovate and re-use an existing building as opposed to demolishing and sending it to the landfill.
Lawson Elser has extensive experience in the structural design of residential buildings including rental properties and private condominiums. We have successfully designed new buildings, and have also designed structural renovations necessary to adapt many existing building to residential use. Many of our building renovation projects have involved saving and restoring existing Historic structures for residential use.
