Your garden will be designed by an award winning Master Gardener. Maureen Taylor has a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. She is a board member of the Landscape Design Associates and an active member of Landscape Design Association and Midwest Ecological Landscapers Association. Taylor Made Landscape Design has been awarded the "Angie's List Super Service" award for 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Maureen has started several community gardens in the Old Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago where she lives. In 2007 she won the prestigious Mayor Daley's Landscape Award for her own backyard.

Services
Our first consultation takes place at your home where one of our designers will meet and discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes, as well as your family needs. If you have any pictures of garden ideas at you've been collecting, we'd love to see them! During the initial consultation we will discuss your budget and how we can meet your needs with the many levels of services we have to offer.
Maureen was a joy to work with, from the first meeting to completion. We discussed our project with several landscaping companies, and Maureen was the only one who listened to what we wanted and was enthusiastic about transforming our bungalow. She was very flexible with scheduling around house construction and life events.
This lovely Georgian had a back and front yard that had been neglected for some time. We added a small paver patio and walkway in the back yard, and in the front we yard added to the limestone retaining wall and planted a Japanese Maple and many beautiful shrubs including low growing apricot colored roses.

Maureen designed our front yard for us this past fall. Her design was exactly what we asked for! She gave us beautiful trees, shrubs, and flowers with all the vibrant color we asked for. Can't wait to use her when we design the back and side yard! She also provided me great educational information on how to care for the different plants, shrubs, and trees to ensure long lasting design that flourishes! Highly recommend! I'll upload pictures in spring!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Taylor Made.
We were looking to do something totally different with our patio. Maureen offered some great ideas and at a reasonable price.
The guys doing the work did a beautiful job in 5 days. There were one or two things that needed correcting after the fact which they addressed quickly.
I don't have to say more, because the pictures say it all.

We're very happy with the wonderful and thorough work that Maureen and her team accomplish. They've been out twice since April, first for spring clean up and then last week to fill in our flower beds with some annuals. Maureen has a great eye for mixing and matching various plants and she is also very receptive to our suggestions. We always get positive comments from our friends and neighbors! I had a great experience with Maureen/Taylor Made Landscape Design. I was in a position where I had neglected my garden for a few years and was unsure of how to bring it back to its former glory. I hired Maureen for a consult, with the idea that she would help me take stock of the garden--admittedly kind of a puzzle because it was early in the season and most of my perennials had barely emerged--and to provide some advice, and perhaps be involved with future work in terms of infrastructure.

You can see Maureen's reply. She's called her actions "responsible landscaping," implying she didn't want to do anything that might impede my ability to sell my house as planned. Here's the thing, I wasn't asking for an opinion or consultation on curb appeal, I was looking for a someone to do work I didn't have time to do (selling a house is busy work). Since she opted not to do the job and wasted my time, my wife and I decided to do the work we had in mind on our own. Took us a weekend we didn't have to spend. And guess what.

Absolutely great. Maureen is a very, very talented person. We had a blah Chicago backyard square with a homemade concrete patio. Serviceable but dull. We asked Maureen to give us some suggestions on how to make it special. She listened patiently then sat down on our back steps with her sketch pad and her muse. An hour later, she had a range of proposals. We tweaked and consulted, finally settling on a design for a beautiful curved bluestone patio with a sweeping bed of perennials and a gorgeous tree in the corner to anchor it all.

We met with Maureen and paid her a $75 fee to develop a plan. We did not have an issue with the fee because we anticipated we'd apply it to our services. She promised the plan within a week. I followed up with her in 10 days later and she said she was waiting for her 'soil guy' to give her a bid. It is now a month! Today I received an email that she reminded her 'soil guy' to come to our house to give HER a bid. Wow! I've moved on with another more responsive landscape vendor. I am very disappointed. I feel I paid $75 for nothing! What a waste of money

Can you give a zero? We awarded Maureen a big job, full landscaping to a dirt palette.
The job started with a missed appointment. Once we finally met, we reviewed plans which were satisfactory, the shortfall was in the preparation for the job. Taylor Made never inspected/tested the soil and did not reform it prior to planting. As a result, most plants died. At this point, I requested they re-dig and replace with new soil (after doing research myself on how to repair soil) Taylor Made repaired and replaced the plants, but did not do any research or dig deep enough for full repair.
