The Okinawan Karate Club is an excellent (and unique!) karate studio. But I'm biased, because I train there! So let me give you five reasons why...

1) The karate. It's a solid traditional-style dojo that will teach you practical self-defense moves along with the philosophy of martial arts training. It will improve balance, flexibility, and confidence, while making you use your brain. This is more challenging than you'd expect. But it starts out slow, so don't worry if this is your first foray into the world of karate!

2) The workout. The instructors are highly experienced

Started taking kids here in Feb. 2012, after endless web searching and sensei interviewing. I was looking for a karate style that emphasized personal growth over just learning how to beat someone up. Found it! Kids (ages 7, 9, and 11) love it, and spouse and I liked it so much that we joined too! Don't come here if you're looking for style over substance.
