For almost 10 years, Jacksonville Muay Thai has provided world class Muay Thai training in a safe and fun environment to the Jacksonville community. But, despite all our accomplishments in competition, we are most proud of the family that we've created at JMT. A family that supports each other through every challenge, and is in your corner no matter the fight.
Great place to get kids of all ages involved in martial arts! The gym is large. The teachers are masters at keeping the kids engaged. The staff is friendly and there is a positive culture there. With social distancing there is plenty of room on the lobby to see the class and keep distance from other parents.

Services
Jax Muay Thai (JMT) was started in 2010 as a place for Kru Giles to train his then 4 year old daughter and some of her friends. From the very beginning, the focus was on a creating a space that felt like a second home, with coaches and friends who supported you on your martial arts journey, no egos, no judgement, just a mutual love of martial arts and all of the wonderful benefits they can bring to your life.
Muay Thai originated on principles that are key to self-protection. However, the modern ring sport is very different from situations that one might encounter out in the world. We're excited to present Reality Muay Thai, a new weekly class featuring the principles of Muay Boran. This ancient martial art, developed on the battlefield, is the root from which the sport of Muay Thai grew.
Jax Muay Thai is proud to feature a dedicated team of highly qualified coaches who love to teach Muay Thai and have produced multiple National Champions. Many of our coaches are active members of our Fight Team, competing everywhere from local events to the International Federation of Muaythai Associations World Championships in Bangkok.
Through the art of Muay Thai, we create a structured experience for mind and body to empower, transform and thank our Veteran and Law Enforcement heroes. We enable our Warriors to significantly impact themselves, their families, and their communities in the course of practicing this traditional martial art.
Although it is not traditional to have belt levels or gradings in Muay Thai, at Jax Muay Thai we believe it is important for children to see clear signs of their progression in the martial arts and to learn how to set goals and work towards them in a structured and disciplined manner. A Prajiad is a traditional small band of cloth worn around the biceps of a Thai fighter that has a deep symbolic meaning and is often blessed by a monk.

Positive: Communication, Professionalism, Quality, Value
Moved to Jacksonville and didn’t know much of any one. Jax Muay Thai not only provided a great place to get authentic and challenging training that doubles as a great workout, but also is somewhere that allows you to be a part of a welcoming community of people from all walks of life and skill levels.

I recently started training under John A. back in November. I must say he’s an awesome personal trainer. He takes his time to make sure you grasp everything he’s teaching you! Nothing short of positive encouragement as well. Gym is great and the people who come and go are very nice. 10/10, I will be signing up for sessions again, once they are over.

Great place to get kids of all ages involved in martial arts! Here is why:
1) the gym is large! There are many components of fitness that are used. Cardio, footwork, balance, hitting bags or shields - many many elements that keep the kids engaged.
2) the teachers are masters at keeping the kids engaged. They know all the tricks to keep attention and focus which is a real challenge with today’s kids.
3) the fitness component is good but the kids are not throwing up or being hammered by the workouts. They are working hard but at a fu level. It’s appropriate for the age of the child.

I started taking classes back in 2017 with a desire to self defend myself for any future situations. I travel a lot around the world dancing so it was important to me then to know how to protect myself. now I am teaching stretching and conditioning classes here to a community that I consider family. I highly recommend this place not only for getting into shape but joining a tribe of really amazing people that each have very beautiful stories to share.

I started one year ago at JMT with zero experience. I had multiple lower back injuries coming in and was unsure how much I could take. With diligent stretching and strengthening of legs, hips and core that comes with training I am better off than when I began.
When you take classes here you’re learning at all levels from experienced fighters. Best competitive Muay Thai gym in town.

Amazing place for aspiring fighters and even those that just want to stretch and work out in martial arts. Jax Muay Thai has very supportive coaches and trainers. Their championship wins make them a breeding ground for the best Muay Thai fighters nationally and internationally.
Jax Muay Thai is great place for families, too. Classes for the whole family include stretching exercises and private lessons with ballerina/Muay Thai enthusiast Hilly, training one-on-one with Coach Giles, sparring with fighters Omar and Austin, etc.
Check them out and have fun getting skilled in Muay Thai!

One of the best places in Jacksonville to get the real Muay Thai Training. Khru Giles has over 20 years of experience teaching martial artists and fighters. His students and fight team are awesome to train with. There are no egos in that gym. The kids program is amazing and the kids have a blast training. The facility has everything you need like ring, heavy bags, weight room, turf grass in the back to for sprints and sled work and most importantly clean working bathrooms with showers. I highly recommend coming here.

I can't say enough about this gym! The whole family has been going for over a year and it has been awesome. We have kids ages 4, 7, & 15. The younger ones attend the kids classes and our 15 yr old daughter trains with us. My wife was never a fan of working out but she loves it. Both Kru Giles & Brandon are great teachers & coaches and everyone is made to feel welcome regardless of skill level.
