Dynamic Martial Arts
Gongkwon Yusul (GKYS) is a modern yet very traditional Korean martial art. GKYS is an effective fighting system because it not only focuses on modern self defense techniques such as striking, throwing, and ground techniques but also on the traditional values of respect, courtesy, and integrity. GKYS is known as one of the safest martial arts where anyone can participate regardless of age due to its unique culture.

Gongkwon Yusul is widely practiced in Korea, China, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Germany, Spain, Russia, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, HongKong, Canada and now finally in the USA!. Services
The Dynamic Martial Arts Academy is a martial artist owned and operated martial arts dojang. We offer instruction and courses in various forms of traditional martial arts and modern systems, based strength and conditioning classes.

At DMA we feel that being a well-rounded martial artist cannot be accomplished by learning technique alone, thus we incorporate the principles and values of traditional martial arts training into our curriculum's as well.Aside from learning some of the most effective, street-proven self-defense techniques available today, our students are also trained to develop the mind, body, and spirit as one whole being.
Gongkwon Yusul is a modern Korean martial art, founded in 1996. Master Jun Kang developed this system based on his extensive experience and analysis of martial arts. The "empty fist" stands for all techniques like punches, kicks etc. The "gentle art" designates throws, locks or grappling techniques which aim to redirect the opponent's force against him.
Gongkwon Yusul is an all encompassing martial art, which has a range of techniques that can be applied at all distances with maximum efficiency. The essence of Gongkwon Yusul is it's ability to seamlessly integrate striking techniques such as punches, kicks and knees to close the distance into grappling range.
Striking in Gongkwon Yusul utilizes all parts of the body and includes: punching, empty-hand striking, elbows and knees. As you would expect with a Korean martial art, it also incorporates a wide variety of kicking techniques drawn from both Korean and non-Korean sources. This includes grappling both with and without the gi/dobok.
Kid Tigers is a fun and exciting way to introduce young children to the basics of martial arts. Separate from our regular children's program, the Kid Tiger program provides a year round extra-curricular activity that the child can depend on for stability throughout his or her ever changing year.

Weekly classes help prepare the child for school, build self-confidence, and provide a place for the child to run, play, and grow - all while having fun learning martial arts.As soon as they can walk, talk and are potty trained, they can take Karate. At this stage they are just learning about their bodies and testing their boundaries.

Tried this place for a few months and saw almost no progress. I took my little guy around the corner to another place and hav4 seen a huge improvement. Maybe it was the language barrier or the fact that teenagers were instructing the kids, but the place we are at now has adults that lead all of the classes. Having a high belt level doesn't mean you know how to instruct children.

My daughter has been taking classes here for over a year now and I have seen her improve so much in that time. Master Kim and the other instructors are great with her, not only teaching her martial arts, but respect and discipline which has carried over to her behavior at home.

I started taking lessons myself nearly 6 months ago as a way to work out and relieve stress. I have more energy than I have in years, my strength and flexibility have improved tremendously and I really enjoy taking classes here. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!

This is a wonderful place for training for Martial Arts. The master of the dojo master Jae G. Kim is a great person and is very nice. They have tae kwon do training for all ages. They are now a Gwonkwon Yusul dojo instead of just a regular taekwondo dojo. I would recommend this place if you want to teach your child self defense, discipline, or if you just want to train yourself.
