Sagasser & Associates, Inc. Phase 1 environmental site assessments are performed and formatted in general accordance with the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice E1527. Guidance documents prepared by Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) are followed for completion of hydrogeological investigations, verification of soil remediation and remedial action plans.

Utilized on historically undeveloped or residential properties, where common knowledge substantiates prior use. Sagasser & Associates, Inc. conducts the Site Reconnaissance and Regulatory Search following the same protocol as for our Phase 1 ESAs. Since most cases that are applicable for Transaction Screens do not have historic Fire Insurance Map coverage, Sagasser & Associates, Inc. augments our research to include aerial photograph reviews.
Per permit requirements for dredging lake or river bottoms pursuant to Part 325, Great Lakes Submerged Lands or Part 301 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended, dredge material characterization is required. Sagasser & Associates, Inc. personnel have completed numerous dredge sampling projects for marina/harbor upgrade and inland lake sedimentation projects.
Antrim Gas Well Field - Manistee, Michigan: Project involved the environmental assessment of 19 Antrim gas wells, an injection well and a central processing facility (CPF).

The scope of work established in cooperation with the client, involved a site reconnaissance of each well site and the CPF, 22 soil borings, soil analyses for chlorides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PNAs), monitor well sampling and analysis, and a comprehensive report.Results were compared with the Generic Residential Cleanup Criteria (GRCC) established under Part 201 of the NREPA.
Sagasser & Associates, Inc. (Sagasser) was approved as a Prime Professional Service Contractor and Contracted by the State of Michigan Department of Management and Budget (DMB) [Discretionary Contract No. 00127] for minor discretionary engineering projects by the State.

We were requested by the Saginaw Bay District Office to provide a proposal and project schedule for the Site identified as Residential Contamination - 7859 Walton Road, Shepherd Michigan (Site).It is understood that this project was the first time the MDEQ-RRD had utilized this relatively new Discretionary Contract.
