Jim and Joyce Klunder, local New Hampton residents, first built Klunder's Kafe in 1981. Their goal was to serve the best "prepared-from-scratch" home cooked food at reasonable family prices. Originally, the Kafe was located at a truck stop on Old Highway 63. With the help of their six children, along with an outstanding staff, Klunder's Kafe has become a landmark destination.
Start with our amazing breakfast menu - served all day. Enjoy a cinnamon roll, tasty omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, the Kackle Burger or bacon and eggs. Our lunch choices include fresh salads, Corned Beef Reuben, the Grilled Chicken Breast, Tenderloin Melt or the Loaded Taco! Dinners are awesome.
Our out-of-this-world Homemade Super Cinnamon Roll is warm and coated with fresh white or maple frosting. A special treat, just for you! A mix of breakfast and dinner! The Chicken & Waffle meal is two chicken strips, two pieces of bacon, maple frosting, and powered sugar. Our delicious Biscuits and Gravy Supreme item is served with a healthy portion of hash browns, a homemade biscuit, sausage gravy, and 2 eggs.
Fresh fish is a favorite at Klunder's Kafe. The Tilapia Dinner is a mild fish. In addition, it's served with your choice of potato, soup or salad, and a homemade fresh roll or toast. Our Butterfly Shrimp Dinner is for seafood lovers. This delicious meal comes with a potato, your choice of soup or salad, along with a homemade roll or toast.
This yummy meal includes a half or whole portion of beef and is one of our many customer favorites. Our Hot Beef Sandwich is proudly served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Only in Iowa! Our Tenderloin Melt Sandwich is grilled and served on wheatberry bread, with a slice of swiss cheese, mushrooms, and bacon.

My children and I visited this place every once in a while and it’s always very country like feel. The waitresses are always nice. The food comes out quick and it’s always delicious. We love that they have fresh pie. With a variety of it. I had their peanut butter pie which is very good. one suggestion would be change the crust to an Oreo crust. Just my opinion. My daughters favorite is the strawberry. Unfortunate they didn’t have it this time so she got a double chocolate pie. Which h is really good. My son got ice cream. we also got meals which was excellent. There Phillies are full strips

Today Klunder's had a line of hungry customers waiting, but we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. I guess the locals know where to go for a delicious meal! And, it was scrumptious! The omelet was well-cooked, but not overdone, with just the right amount of garnishes. My husband had the hot roast beef sandwich which he couldn't finish because it filled him up. If we would have had room, we'd have sampled the homemade pies which looked very inviting! Great food at a reasonable price!

This place is definitely a must experience if you are in the area! Its family owned the food is exceptional the pies are exquisite and the service is absolutely on point! I may take my family there so they can experience it even it it means driving there from GA. For no other reason but to dine here again!
