Laurie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist in the North Dallas area. She has over 20 years experience providing counseling for families, children, adolescents and adults. Laurie works with children using play therapy in a large therapeutic playroom. Adolescents and older children utilize activity therapy such as art and games to process their feelings and learn new coping skills.

She uses her HIPPA- Compliant SimplePractice portal to confidentially meet with individuals via video. Meeting in person is preferred but teletherapy is a great option if we are unable to.

Services
Laurie has been counseling children, adolescents and adults in private practice since April of 2006. Laurie has always been passionate about helping others and is fortunate to be doing something she loves. Laurie graduated in 1996 with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University.
Individual Counseling: In a one on one relationship, Laurie facilitates the exploration and resolution of personal problems and issues according to the needs of the individual. From the initial assessment, Laurie will listen carefully to the needs of the client and then in collaboration with the client determine a treatment plan.
Play therapy is to children what talk therapy is to an adult. Play therapy utilizes a child's most natural form of expression. PLAY!This helps them express their feelings and cope with difficult life situations. Although children often struggle cognitively and verbally to express themselves through words, they can express themselves through the language of play.
