Services
Amherst Physical Therapy was founded in 1978 at its original location in Amherst, NY. The office moved to North Buffalo in 1981 and to its present location on Delaware Avenue in 1988. An expansion of the Delaware Avenue clinic in 2001 provided increased exercise facilities, equipment and an in-ground therapeutic pool in order to facilitate early rehabilitation for all orthopedic injuries, arthritic conditions and chronic pain syndromes.
Buoyancy - Provides assistance and support. It is used to decrease gravitational forces placed on weak limbs that are less able to bear weight. Buoyancy allows a person to move more easily with decreased stress on muscles, joints and bones. The warm water relaxes muscles and allows for improved circulation and range of motion.
Q: My doctor is referring me to physical therapy. Can I choose where I go? A: Absolutely. Your doctor will provide you with a prescription for PT and may direct you where to attend PT. However, you have the right to choose where to go for your PT/rehab needs based on convienence of location, transportation and the PT's experience in working with your specific diagnosis or needs.

As a client at Amherst Physical Therapy for rehabilitation after four surgeries in the last 15 years, I have always been impressed and satisfied with the skill and professionalism of their therapists, management, and office staff. The office is conveniently located in North Buffalo and has plenty of parking. Among the most positive features of the practice are the friendliness of the therapists and the personal attentiveness and support they provide to each client, young or old. My last periods of therapy were from January-September 2020 (pre-operative) and December 2020-April 2021 (post-operative

I would definitely recommend this place for your physical therapy. The staff is friendly and I've had nothing but a positive experience here. After reading some of the other reviews I'm glad they rejected the person with the high temperature. At least they are trying to keep their patients and staff safe. I see them wiping everything down after its used. I actually enjoy my visits here.

I had a terrible experience the minute I walked in the door and spoke to ms. Sacco. She never smiles and very unfriendly. She is also incompetent. Last week I went in with my prescription for massage therapy. I gave it to ms. Sacco and she made an appointment for me Sept 5th. For 1:00. Along with paper work to fill out. On September 5th. I arrived at the Delaware location at 9:15 am to give ms. Sacco the forms she gave me. Then she told me I was to early and to come back at 1:00 I said of course that is my scheduled appointment. When I came back I sat until 1:15 until called by ms. Sacco to let

I was prescribed physical therapy for a knee that I could not bend, could hardly walk on, after not rehabbing it properly after surgery a year ago. I ended up here, and was pretty confident I would do my 4 weeks, go back to the doctor, and need surgery again. After 4-5 weeks of therapy I had so much improvement, that my doctor decided i did not need surgery, nor did I need the gel injections under my knee. I was prescribed 4-6 more weeks of therapy, which was good news. Every single person there is friendly, and very knowledgeable. They push me to a point I would not go on my own, which is why
