Dr. Kristina Staples, a native of Southside Virginia, spent seven years as Director of Dental Services for a Community Health Center Organization in Virginia, supervising 11 dental offices and their staffs.
In 2018 she returned to her home of Blackstone to take over the practice of a retiring dentist and rebrand it as Blackstone Family Dentistry. Services
Blackstone Family Dentistry has been serving the Blackstone community for over 40 years. The practice was originally founded by Dr. Mark Reitz in 1978. When Dr. Reitz retired in 2018, the practice was purchased by Dr. Staples, who had been serving as the Director of Dental Services for a community health center in Virginia.
Blackstone Family Dentistry provides a full range of services for patients of all ages, including pediatric dental care, preventative care, and emergency care. Properly caring for your mouth and your teeth are very important to a person's overall health and can even increase life expectancy. We not only clean our patient's teeth, but also help educate them on proper care methods and techniques.

While most dental procedures performed at Blackstone Family Dentistry are focused on preserving your teeth, for various reasons occasionally adult teeth need to be removed in the interest of maintaining proper oral health. As far as dental procedures go, the extraction of a tooth can be a bit more involved than installing fillings or crowns.
Blackstone Family Dentistry is committed to making sure you have a healthy smile. Sometimes that includes dentures/plates. We are here to make sure you understand all your denture and implant options and make the most informed decisions. A denture is a removable plastic or ceramic replacement for missing teeth and their surrounding tissue.

I've been seeing Dr. Staples for the last two years now, and I am glad that I was informed about this office. All of the staff that I've encountered, including reception and dental assistants, have been wonderful. They are courteous and knowledgeable, which I appreciate. They are on time with appointments. Dr. Staples herself is great. She's easy to talk with about any concerns and I like that she explains what she's doing/what to expect. I will definitely keep coming back to this office!
