I hired Houndstooth Carpet to come out and clean my upholstery and carpet. The upholstery was not cleaned to my satisfaction and they agreed to a $100 refund. The technician that serviced my home put two holes in my wall. I was only notified of one hole in my hole while he was onsite. I called Houndstooth to express my displeasure with the service… provided. I've used Houndstooth since 2005 and have never experienced an issue. They offered to repair the holes in my wall but ONLY if the technician came to my home the first time was allowed to do it. Based on the quality provided by this technician

BEWARE. This company uses contractors is it is hit or miss. The last contractor that came out did not clean my entire house, there were rooms untouched, and he only spot cleaned in some rooms. I ordered scotch guard, disinfectant and pet treatment. The only thing he did was half a$$ do the a clean and tell me that a “professional” couldn’t do much… better. I thought he was a “professional” when I scheduled my cleaning. I reported the horrible job to the office, and they offered to send someone out. The next day the same guy came back with a horrible attitude

The carpet guy did a great job on the carpet, and he was very professional with his customer service skills. He was on time, but they don't call the night before or when they're on their way. He poured the dirty stuff from the machine in our yard.... that was so nasty. And PLEASE do not pay with check because they're just now cashing it, after 3… weeks. I called and talked to the owner after the first week, he primrosed he'd take care of it and he didn't. And they don't have a credit card/debt card machine. They still write it out on carbon copy and give you a copy lo . That's so hard to

I scheduled a carpet cleaning with this company,the technician was late arrive,I hand moved all the furniture so he would have enough time to work on the litely dirty carpet.He was here for 30 minutes at most to clean Berber carpet in three areas including stairs and two bedrooms with pile carpeting.The Floor look as they did before he arrived and… very wet after running the furnace and fans from 10am-it is after 10pm.This guy did no scrubbing on the stairs or entrance.This is the worst job I have ever had done in 25 years.Planning on stopping payment tomorrow.

I honestly don't know where to began with this horrible company. They contract all of the work out to begin with. My first technician told me he would be at my home between 12pm and 4pm on Wednesday. He arrived at 6:15pm drunk and told me he had a flat tire. Then he told me he didn't feel like doing the job. So the next day I spoke with Earl the manager he apologize and said he would send some out on Friday because he didn't have anyone that Thursday. So on Friday my technician arrived at 2:40pm. He was a older gentleman that looked a transient. But he was courteous and came inside

1st guy did not show. Did not call.
2nd guy came and when he saw we had a baby gate on the stairs - said he couldn't do the job (which we later learned was wrong... it was just "harder" as he had to lift the machine over... like the 3rd guy did).
3rd guy was supposed to come between 9 and 12. Arrived at 1:30pm and we find out that he was only told about our job THAT MORNING. So the office knew he wouldn't be there between 9 and 12 and could have told us that.
He was done in under an hour. I had to ask for him to touch up spots. Can hardly tell

Terrible, terrible company! PLEASE READ. We scheduled an appointment WEEKS in advance to avoid any problems because we have a time frame to put our house on the market. Our appointment time was anywhere from 4-8. We took off early from work and were here well before 4 just to make sure we were here in time.
We get a call from the carpet cleaner at 4:18 that we did not answer because we don't have the phone attached to us 24/7. We called back at 4:45 only to be told by the salesman that WE, THE CUSTOMERS should have called and confirmed the appointment so he is no longer quote: "30 minutes

This is a place that subs out all of their work, which results in a lower price than other places. Josh was our tech and he did a thorough job on the duct cleaning. He was friendly and took his job seriously. Told us we wouldn't need it serviced again for at least two years - I appreciate the honesty! While he was there he gave us an estimate on cleaning our MONSTER of a sectional couch, $80 and he took care of it that day. He was proud of his work as he walked me around showing me what he did and pointing out any observations he had.

These guys are horrible. As other reviewers have stated their work is average at best. I had actually planned on having them come out and do a pet stain removal just because it was cheap, but the guys never showed up for the appointment because even though someone was at the house waiting on them they weren't able to get through to me over the phone (while I was at work) and decided they didn't need to come out. I called to get some help and their response was sorry but we didn't waste your time and it will be 3 days before someone can come out. Didn't even care that they wasted

I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on these carpet cleaners. Houndstooth is average at best.
PROS:
- Extremely courteous and professional; technicians gave me a call prior to coming out and showed up early for the appointment
- Cost...well, you get what you pay for

- They did nothing spectacular; nothing more than what I could have done myself with a rented grocery store carpet cleaner. They did no spot treating, which was something the technicians bragged about being "two of the best" at while they were in my home. My carpet doesn't look any better than

So I got some work done to my house and needed my hardwood floors cleaned as well as my carpet upstairs. It seems as if this company only has contractors that work for them. So the people they send out to your house are not actual employees of the company. They sent someone out the first time. The guy said he couldn't clean hardwood floors. So I called the company to have someone else sent to clean my hardwood floors. Took off work to be home. The second guy showed up in some rinky dink pick up. Looked shady. Far surpassed my expectations. I arranged to have my whole house cleaned and deodorized for an extremely low price. I wondered what to expect. I thought there would be some kind of hassle over the price. They honored their pricing and did a good job, even removing a couple of stains that I didn't expect to come up. My carpets look good, in time for the holidays.

My friend decided to use Houndstooth for a small carpeted room, 20x20 that had acquired some stains. After cleaning, the room mildewed and smelled alarmingly bad. When she called to complain, a man stating he was the manager began to scream an yell at her, and called her an idiot.
They refused to let us speak with another manager, OR the owner, becoming shifty and secretive when we called to speak with someone else.
That carpet still smells horrid. Hopefully she can get it replaced soon before the mildew gifted to her by Houndstooth can take over her house.

I needed a last minute appointment in which they were able to squeeze me in pretty fast. The guys coming out gave me a courtesy call to let me know they were on their way and they showed up on time. When they arrived I was surprised to see that they were in a personal car with the machine loaded in the open trunk. Then they got to the door and their shirts had the name of another carpet cleaning company. Weird!
