Spring is here! We are grateful for your part in our story these past months and invite you to be part of our next chapter. We are doing a stellar takeaway business, and as the weather permits, guests are taking advantage of our gardens & deck to enjoy their dinners. The Ledford House Restaurant is located just seven miles South of Mendocino on Highway One in Albion, California.
Its bluff top location on the Albion headlands allows panoramic views of the Pacific ocean and breathtaking sunsets. The Restaurant reflects the provencal style of Southern France and accommodates 65 to 90 people in the elegance of two dining rooms where expansive windows allow the Pacific Ocean to become part of the decor.

Services
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a casual elegance, both comfortable and sophisticated. These fabric collages are hand sewn by Lisa Geer, blending lace, silks & velvets with other mediums into scenes portraying a romantic cafe life. We have been cooking together since 1976 when we started a small espresso shop in the Sierra Nevada's.

I can't remember the last time I went out to dinner and LOVED every single course. To start- we had boulevardiers and a tasty local cab sauv from Sonoma. Then escargot and oysters- both were fabulous. The oysters were fresh and light and not too brine-y. For our main courses, we had a rabbit pot pie and peppered filet mignon for such a reasonable cost (10oz filet for $36 is such a steal). Both were cooked perfectly and perfectly well balanced. Last course- bread pudding.. so good that we ordered another one shortly after the first. Everything was absolutely delicious and we will recommend

Found this charming restaurant on line while staying at the Albion Inn… their restaurant is only open 3 nights a week. Ledford House food is outstanding… fresh, tasty, perfectly served and it was a takeout order! Their phone service was great when we called in and the order was ready exactly when they said it would be. Fresh bread, olive oil and olives and the filet mignon was the best my husband said he ever had😊
My pork chop was done to perfection snd served with delicious mashed potatoes and vegetables. Will definitely dine here again.

5 Star all around. Ambience was warm and inviting. Tables well spaced. Host(owner?) greeted us at our table with two complimentary flutes of champagne for our anniversary. Nice touch. My wife had the peppercorn crusted filet mignon and it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the daily bistro Prixe Fixe dinner which featured pork shoulder. Cooked just right it was very well presented and every last forkful was savored. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful views, celebrated our anniversary here. Had the filet mignon and it was delicious, staff was incredibly nice, even gave us a couple glasses of champagne to celebrate our special occasion. Our seats were right by the window overlooking the ocean. Highly recommend if you're in the Mendocino area.

Service was great. Food was very good. The special is pretty cheap and you get what you pay for. It isn't spectacular, but it's a nice way to try a few things. I had the cassoulet and it was well made and very flavorful. My partner has the special and he liked it but was a bit disappointed with the portion, but like I said, you get what you paid for. Dessert is a must here.
Beautiful location with an incredible view. Highly recommend this place for your trip to Mendocino.

Came here for my birthday dinner. They were able to fulfill our special request to have a window seat on their busiest night. Food was delicious and flavorful as well as fairly priced for the quality and quantity. Our waiters were friendly and we had a lovely conversation with them and the owner. Will visit again!

It’s the little things! I am a local and had a craving for some good soup. Driving by, I saw that the parking lot was totally full and there was a line out the door. I called and immediately a nice woman picked up. I asked her if it was possible to get a bowl of soup to go and she said “of course“ and I said I see there’s a line out the door, what should I do and she said to just come in through the line and the soup will be ready for me in two minutes. Sure enough, it was ready and she cheerfully greeted me and immediately did the credit card transaction. When I got back to my car I saw

So disappointed. We planned to return here for our anniversary dinner where we had our all vegan reception, 20 years ago to the day. I reached out to the restaurant last week to make reservations and confirm vegan entree availability as indicated here. After not receiving a response, I called and learned that they had no vegan entree or any meal they could make to serve us so we had to cancel.

A wonderfully memorable meal! So many good things to say about this place. I will start first with the drinks. The bartender was not only very personable She helped my wife and I pick out the perfect wine and cocktail. The server pointed us to escargot and duck pate for appetizer then the 3 course meal which included was a duck lasagna. Everything came out at just the right time and tasted wonderful! The view was spectacular! We even got to watch the fog roll in. When we left we were greeted by at nicest cat who required belly rubs before we left. All in all a magical evening!

Oh. My. God. This place rules. I cannot believe we have been coming to Mendocino for years and did not know about this place.
We had the green salad and the whole roasted garlic with chevre (goat cheese) and crostini for appetizers. So good. The chevre was super creamy. The garlic was nice and caramelized.
For dinner we had the duck breast and the cassoulet. Again, both amazing. The duck breast had a nice crispy skin and an amazing blackberry sauce. The cassoulet also had duck and the beans, cooked in duck fat of course, are delicious. One of the best we've had outside of France

If you're looking for one of the best restaurants on the Mendocino Coast, you have found it. The Ledford House has a superb menu with locally sourced cuisine and service that is second to none. We took my mother there for her birthday and were not disappointed. Tony (the owner) could not have been nicer and more accommodating. There is a choice of two dining rooms both with stunning ocean views, a toasty fireplace, and tasteful ambiance for any occasion. Fiona, our waitress deserves an award for her impeccable service, attention to detail, and went above and beyond with her warm demeanor.

This place was recommended by our innkeeper.
My wife and I dined there tonight. We had a 7:30 reservations but due to another obligation, we had to start earlier, which they were able to accommodate.
We had a simple table next to the window so we had a great view of the ocean.
For a higher quality restaurant with an amazing ocean view, I thought the prices were very reasonable. There was a Thursday Bistro special - $25 for green salad, main course (pork chop with ratatouille), and dessert (fruit tart with creme fraiche). My wife had the duck breast (delicious). For appetizer, we had 6 baked

I first dined here in 2016, and I've done so dozens and dozens of times since. Every dish and cocktail I've tried has been divine. And although I'm not a meatarian, my various dining companions who are have always been delighted with their selections as well. The cuisine and bar mixes consistently look as wonderful as they taste. Owners Tony and Lisa (also chef) are warm, welcoming, and attentive. Servers are the same. Add in the sprawling ocean vista from the bar and back patio, and the whole package is 10/10. Do not miss the opportunity to experience this when at the Mendocino coast.

I recently ordered the $25 3-course dinner while in the area for a solo weekend of R&R. It was FANTASTIC. The salad was tasty (and significantly sized), my roasted chicken and duck fat potatoes felt like a fun play on a traditional duck confit, and my lemon (mousse? I think it was a mousse...) was rich and creamy. I'm glad I ordered takeout because this food was too delicious to not eat like an absolute piranha after a day of hiking in Russian gulch. Nobody needed to see that. If I'm back in the area I'll certainly return. Plus my mother's maiden name is Ledford so this

Everything was to go, due to COVID but the quality of the food was outstanding. We had roasted garlic with herbed goat cheese and potato au Gratain with pesto, roasted bell peppers and Gruyer. Deeeeeelightful!! It was such a simple dinner but so tasty. For dessert we had Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - delicious!! After COVID is done we'll be back to done at this beautiful restaurant by the Sea - for today it was a perfect reminder of the food we enjoy while eating out... Simple, Delicious and packed with flavor. Thank you Ledford House!

It's nice and cozy. Service was good. And of course, you get an amazing view, sitting right over the sea side. Food sucks though.
1. Pacific Oysters on the Half Shell with Tomato Horseradish Sorbet (Dozen) $28: They're fine. Served properly. 5/10
2. Steak Tartare $16 "duck fat potatoes & dijon mustard": The tartare itself was very average. Under-seasoned a bit. I did love the duck fat fries though which has great flavor and even a bit of chewiness. But honestly the fries didn't pair with the tartare which was just a waste of most likely good beef
