He is the oldest son of Russell Beane and a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region. Craig graduated from Laconia High School in 1990, and then continued his education at Canton College in Canton, New York where he received his Associate's Degree in Mortuary Science in 1992. After serving his apprenticeship, he became a licensed Funeral Director and began working full-time for the family firm in 1993.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home as originally founded in 1860 by Jefferson Gilbert. He offered many additional services, such as coffin making, paper hanging, picture- framing and manufacturer of window shades. Gilbert sold the business in 1887 to Jonathan L. Moore, whose son John B. Moore later joined the firm.
Whether your wishes are for a traditional funeral with military honors, or a simple committal service, our family owned funeral home offers you the same care and understanding. The traditional funeral service is what most families choose when selecting their funeral arrangements. It normally includes a visitation with family and friends at the funeral home.
Although cremation dates back to ancient times, it has only recently become a more common choice throughout the United States. People choose cremation for a variety of reasons. Some do so based on environmental considerations. Others have philosophical or religious reasons. Many people believe that choosing cremation means limiting your options.
We understand that having a conversation with your loved ones about your preferred funeral arrangements is certainly not something that anyone looks forward to, or even has much experience in. Whether it is for peace of mind or to make arrangements for prepaid funeral or cremation services, we meet with local families every day and will be happy to sit down with you in a comfortable environment to answer all of your questions.

Craig Beane and his staff were tremendously helpful and kind in helping us with funeral arrangements. We had to make the arrangements long distance and transfer our family member from another state. Craig handled the details, and the people at Wilkinson-Beane were prompt in answering questions and providing the necessary information. They went above and beyond in providing professional and personal touches at a difficult time.
