Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

The day my Dad passed away at Winchester hospital I called Ryan’s funeral home in Ruckersville V.a. And spoke with Scotty Batten and he assured me that my Dad would be picked up right away and brought back there so I could start planning my Dad’s service, and he kept his promise and helped in more ways than I ever thought. The whole staff was very warm and welcoming and made a difficult time a little more easier to deal with the loss of a loved one. And everyone there was always willing to help out no matter what time of day it was. And I have to give a huge Thank you to Scotty Batten for all

My family and I used Ryan Funeral Home and were more than satisfied with the service and cost associated for the funeral. We live a bit of a distance from Ryan’s (about 25 minutes) however when we called and got prices from Teague and Hill and Wood Funeral Home’s, Ryan’s staff was much more personable and courteous from the initial phone call. The prices that we received from Teague were almost $4,000 MORE than Ryan’s! Hill and Wood was $2,000 more than Ryan’s. The staff at Ryan Funeral Home are over the top! They really showed my family and I that we were their priority and made sure

Recently I had the sad occasion of losing a family friend too early. I had the privilege of helping his widow with the final arrangements. Ashleigh and Chelsey did everything to make this as easy and painless as possible. They went above and beyond, showing care and compassion. I would highly recommend them to others.
