Services
Dr. Block is a Doctor of Acupuncture Chinese Medicine and licensed acupuncturist. She specializes in Pre/postnatal acupuncture, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine. With a degree in Exercise Physiology from University of Puget Sound, Dr. Block has worked with sports injuries in Physical Therapy settings as well as TCM clinics.
Using hair-thin needles acupuncture is used to balance the body and create equillibrium. Acupuncture balances the natural hormone levels in the body including seretonin, dopomine, and endorphins that our body thrives on. When an acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin the nervous system is stimulated and a signal is sent to the brain.
After struggling with Hashitmotos Thyroiditis for twenty years, I was deeply impressed with Dr. Melissa S. Block when, as a result of our work together, my thyroid anti body levels dropped to that of a healthy person without the disease. I am now taking half of the thyroid supplementation I did before coming to Aculibrium.

Love them! I see Nicole most often, but I've worked with the other ladies and they're all very good. I come in and explain all my bodily pains to them and they do a great job at targeting them with acupuncture. They've been especially good with my lower back pain. I went from an 8/10 pain when I walked in, to a 2/10 pain when I left. Highly recommend!

I have been coming here on and off for about a year and I just love it!
I have been to other places for accupunture And they didn't have the warmest and understanding as AcuLibrium does.
I have seen three different acupuncturist but honestly they are all good and address my problems head on a a ask really great questions before we get started. They also respect my choices since I do not like cupping and it's totally fine. Also what I love about this place is they can see me late during the week so I can go to them right after work and it's amazing! I highly recommend this place

I first came to Aculibrium when I was experiencing full-body moderate-to-severe eczema and stuck in a horrible job, also having recently transplanted from Northern California. It's one of the only places that took my insurance (Anthem Blue Cross of CA PPO). I've seen Andrea and Ariana so far. Andrea was my first practitioner, and she very kindly and intently listened to my issues, asked a lot of thorough questions (physical, mental, emotional) and did a full evaluation before deciding on a course of treatment (for the eczema and my anxiety). I started off at 2 sessions per week, and within

The acupuncture itself was great and I enjoyed the room. Technician was nice. It was weird that for the same problems, each tech put needles in different locations on my body (maybe that's just a thing that I am not educated about). The heat lamp on my feet was a nice touch.
My real gripe is that I was in a room with loud staff members talking and laughing right outside the door and it made relaxation quite difficult for me. I wish it had been a bit more sound proofed in the room.

Wow this place works!! Came here pas my due date for labor induction. I started having contractions within 5 minutes of my session and was in full labor within 2 hours. The practitioner was kind and experienced and the prices totally reasonable. They were able to book a same-day appointment which was a big help in my case.

I had been having lower back pain with a pinched nerve for over a month and came here for my first acupuncture experience. The doctors are all very friendly, explained every to me thoroughly, asked if I had questions, and went through an in depth review of my symptoms before starting treatment.
The treatment itself built up over several sessions and not only did it help relieve my pain but it was one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep during every session. I was surprised how relaxed I could be covered in little needles. If youre in need of

Melissa is amazing. Not only is she an incredibly gifted doctor but she is an amazing person. She makes you feel so comfortable, and is very friendly. I originally went in for cupping, and it was life changing. It made my back pain go away, made my whole body feel great, and it seemed to promote an overall happy feeling. I am terrified of needles (they make me faint) and never thought I would ever go near acupuncture, but Melissa explained the whole process to me and I am starting that in addition to my cupping and can't wait to see what wonders it does.

Let me be upfront in saying that I haven't even experienced acupuncture from anyone here so they might be amazing BUT I'm giving 1 star on office management alone.
I called on a Friday and made an appointment for the following Monday at 7:30am (their office hours are listed as 7am-9pm). I got there at about 7:25am and walked in. There was no one behind the desk but I could hear voices in the back so I assumed someone would greet me shortly. So I waited. After another 5 minutes I got up and walked through the office looking for someone to help me. I found a group of girls exercising and

I have been seeing Andrea at Aculibrium for the past three months. My main concern for the visit was a frequent migraine. Usually I get 5-6 migraines per month, mostly during ovulation and period. Some of them are extremely painful -- nausea, vomiting etc.. I have seen my physician, OBGYN and Neurologist, but all I have got were pain medications and an advice to manage my stress level. This is when I decided to try out acupuncture.
My first visit to Andrea was amazing! Carefully listening to my detailed answers to all her questions, she made sure she had all the information about my symptoms

Dr. Melissa is a lifesaver! I was skeptical of acupuncture for years - I stuck to my doctors and figured that was enough. I finally went when my neurologist insisted that I go for migraine treatment. In fact she refused to try any new medications until I went to acupuncture. That was almost 2 years ago and I have not stopped going since! My migraines drastically reduced, completely changing my quality of life. I went from about 1-2/week, to 1 per month.
Now, I'm 6 months pregnant and Dr. Melissa has been the best part of my pregnancy. She helped with my first trimester nausea and exhaustion

I was 42 weeks pregnant and my midwives were ready to induce me. I called around to half a dozen acupuncturists in the area as a last resort, not really sure if it works to induce labor. This place was the only place that said they did labor induction/birth prep without hassling me.
Most amazingly, I went into labor naturally later that day. Only other moms could understand how miserable going two weeks past your due date is. So, this places really saved me.

I've been a few times now and I am generally a fan. My previous experience with acupuncture dates back a long time, so it's been kind of like a re-introduction.
Aculibrium is a casual yet very together emporium of health. There's yoga classes, and supplements for your consideration, as well as a couple treatment rooms for acupuncture and massage therapy. The place is well-organized, good-looking and pleasant to be around.
Working on an acute ailment, I'm coming 3x a week. While it's too early to see results, it certainly feels like we're on the right track. Things

Got a Yelp deal here, and I went in for an acupuncture session for a shoulder issue. She treated me for other general body stresses as well, and I walked out feeling better already. I will go back when I need more sessions. The only complaint is that the walls are think, so I would bring headphones if you really want to relax, but it didn't bother me too much.

After injuring my lower back moving furniture I knew I needed more help than taking ibuprofen and sleeping with a heating pad could offer. I called Dr. Melissa Snyder Block and was able to get an appointment the very next day! I was very nervous as I had never tried acupuncture before. Dr. Snyder Block was very professional and personable, my nerves calmed down immediately.
I've now had 4 treatments for my acute lumbago (fun word she taught me!) and am just about healed. I recommend Aculibrium to anyone who is interested in getting treated!

I recently went to AcuLibrium for acupuncture and loved it. The practice location is perfectly in between my house and office in West LA. It's clean and peaceful, and I felt completely at ease in the acupuncture room. I have recommended Melissa Snyder to my friends and family because she is great! She truly cares about her practice and patients.

I grew up with a family who were doctors and nurses in Western Medicine. When my lower back was hurting and I could barley move I went to see a doctor. After about a week I went to see someone else. Finally I chose to go to AcuLibrium Acupuncture. It was there that my back pain truly started going away. Once the pain was gone and i could finally walk and get in and out of my car normally I decided to go back for regular treatments. Acupuncture is a way for me to relax after a long week and brings me back to what I need to focus on. Additionally, anytime I have any slight pain that I know will escalate

I have grown up with acupuncture. My dad was practicing before I was born, & I've had treatments all my life- from him and many others. I'm very picky about acupuncturists and I've had trouble finding someone I trust in Los Angeles (Dad doesn't live in CA).
Now I'm expecting a baby. Melissa was recommend to me for labor preparation a few weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier.
Her treatments have helped me with pain & hormone balancing. I'll keep seeing her long after I have the baby.
I have finally found my acupuncturist!
Melissa is great!

I'm fairly new to acupuncture and don't do well around needles. But, I heard good things about it and got referred to aculibrium through a friend. I had strange neck pains for a few months prior to my sessions here and no other doctors could really fix what was going on. Dr. Melissa at aculibrium really took the time to understand my issues before explaining the possible root cause. After a few non intrusive treatments I was feeling a lot better and noticed a massive difference in my daily productivity. I highly recommend aculibrium and will be definitely going back.

3 weeks ago I was rear-ended and my car was totaled. Needless to say I'm lucky to be alive. Two days after the accident a friend recommended Melissa and I am forever grateful to her for the unbelievable service she provides. I had never received acupuncture before so I was cynical at first but the results spoke for themselves. I am doing two treatments a week and Melissa comes to my house which takes the stress out of driving to an office and waiting.

After blowing out my lower back and needing to be taken to the ER in excruciating pain at only 28, I realized I needed to make sure I would recover properly AND do whatever was necessary to prevent a back injury like this from ever happening again. I've never used or trusted anything but Western medicine before, but I decided this was simply too important so I was determined to leave no stone unturned. So naturally that included investigating TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).
