Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital
Dr. Gaffney only sees morning appointments on Mondays but the hospital is open from 8:00 to 5:30. We perform surgeries on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays. Call to schedule regular appointments during the week. Emergency appointments are usually available during normal business hours. The philosophy of this veterinary hospital is to offer the best preventative health care for all patients.

We believe in educating the client about why certain preventative health care (teeth cleaning, heartworm preventative, yearly exams with annual vaccinations) are advised, and allow the client to make the final decisions about their pet's care. When a pet is sick, the client is given all the treatment options from conservative to aggressive so they can make an educated decision about how their pet will be treated.
Services
Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital was started by Dr. Gaffney in 1997. We have established ourselves as a friendly animal hospital. Our staff is genuinely caring and does their best to take care of your pet and answer all of your questions. We do not do any large animal medicine (horses, cattle, etc.) although we do work on all dogs even the ones as big as ponies.
Our pharmacy is essentially stocked for our practice. We will be able to send you home with most medications your pet needs. Occasionally, we will call in a prescription to a human pharmacy. Angel Fire now has a Best Care Pharmacy which has been quite helpful in filling prescriptions for medications we don't stock.
Angel Fire Small Animal Hospital offers a boarding facility located at Dr. Gaffney's residence. Brochures are available at the veterinary hospital indicating directions to VET PET RESORT. We have 9 indoor runs for dogs. The runs are 4' by 8'. There are large windows and a sliding glass door that allows animals to have plenty of sunshine and a "room with a view."
Q: I am new to the area. What do I need to know? A: We recommend keeping your dog on heartworm preventative May through October here in the Moreno Valley. If you travel to warmer climates where mosquitoes are more prevalent, keeping your dog on heartworm preventative while traveling is ideal. We don't see fleas often here, but if your pet gets fleas you'll need to treat them.

My eight month old Husky puppy sustained a serious eye injury. I'm from out of town and began calling every veterinarian nearest me without ever getting a human being. My caring neighbor suggested Angel Fire Hospital. She called, and they were able to see him right away. The staff there were fabulous! They were able to save the eye that I thought was a total loss. They were also able to ease my anxiety. Dr. Gaffney consulted with canine optometrists and developed a post operative pharmological plan that was well explained to me. My pup and I were so well treated I would recommend their services

We recently moved to New Mexico and had our muttly crew transported via professional dog transport. Our 7 dogs arrived severly dehydrated and quite unwell. Dr. Gaffney and staff jumped right in after hours and started care. Thankfully all 7 survived. I will always be truly thankful for the care my dogs received and the compassion from the entire staff.

Dr. Gaffney and her team are the best. We are very lucky to have them in the valley. My sweet fur baby had a rough three weeks with abscessed teeth and mouth infection. Two teeth were pulled and a cleaning with antibiotics. While she was healing from that she then had an episode with Lyme disease, being lame, fever, and not eating for almost 4 days. Another round of antibiotics and pain pills. I am happy to say as of yesterday she began eating and is now feeling so much better and returning to her sassy little self. I am so happy to have my fur baby back. Thank you Dr. Gaffney for your dedication
