Our founding attorney, Melissa L. Isaak, has seen firsthand how deeply ingrained the biases against men are in the legal system and beyond. From growing up with a mother who alienated her father to being a child therapist and seeing that what happened in courtrooms didn't truly serve the best interests of children, she solidified her commitment to achieving equality for men.

Isaak Law Firm was founded to protect the rights of men in family law and related issues. Melissa Isaak is a passionate, no-nonsense lawyer who believes that husbands and fathers need a voice in an unfair system. Our law practice exclusively represents men in the family courts of Alabama and Florida to resolve divorce, child custody and other family disputes.
Melissa L. Isaak founded the Isaak Law Firm to fight exclusively for the rights of men in family law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Melissa served in the U.S. Army as an active duty soldier. While on active duty, Melissa attended college as a full-time student and obtained her bachelor's degree and a master's degree in psychology.
Jessica practices out of the Isaak Law Firm's Montgomery office. Prior to her admission to the Alabama State Bar, Jessica received her Juris Doctor from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Birmingham-Southern College.

During child custody negotiations, it is very common for the father to feel that he has no hope of earning majority custody or even split custody of his child. This feeling can be due to the results that repeatedly come from a broken justice system when the court grants the mother custody even if she is not the fittest parent.

So I have to say this was the worst experience I have ever had with a law firm. Jessica Chang I believe doesn’t even know what family law is or what a petition to modify means. She stated she filed an emergency hearing and we were waiting on Houston County to schedule the date. This went on for approximately 2 months as she kept stating we were still waiting and should have an answer any day. Come to find out she never filed anything and I could’ve filed it myself. I called the court clerk and that is how I got the confirmation. This was a very important issue as it had to with the visitation

She was very professional and helped me through the process, explaining my rights and the best way to handle each step until the end. She stayed on top of all the paperwork, including pressing opposing counsel for their parts. Divorce isn't a fun thing to go through but I couldn't have asked for better counsel.

Went to get my child support lowered and talked with Melissa who was supposed to help me lower it. 3 weeks ago we met and she told me to send her my decree and she would get me an estimate of what it could get lowered to and she never once has emailed me back. I've sent her three emails and never once got an email or call from her.
