Lafayette Franklin "Frank" Butler came to Lebanon, Indian Territory, prior to 1890 when he married Ava Orr. It was here that he began to write insurance. He later moved to Marietta, continuing his career as an insurance man. In 1916, he purchased the agency of John Randolph Hearn and established Butler Insurance Agency in Madill.
