Services
All members can take Advanced classes but these are geared towards students with more experience. It's ok to be confused as we have instructors that can help. Live training is for members who have "two stripes or more" on their belt. This is for both beginners' safety as well as the safety of our more experienced grapplers.
Jiu Jitsu is the best way to not only lose weight, but add muscle all while learning a martial art. Working out at a gym can become boring and repetitive. This leads to lack of motivation, and discipline. Every Jiu Jitsu class at Moorsville BJJ has something new and different, and we hold each other accountable to our goals in an encouraging way.
Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone, but competing isn't. This class is specifically geared towards those who wish to compete. A typical class will consist of an advanced and active warm up, several faster paced techniques, followed by rigorous live training (randori). During each live training session, you will be scored as you typically would while competing and provided on the spot feedback.
BJJ is a grappling Martial Art. It emphasizes getting the fight to the ground, controlling the individual(s) and performing a fight ending submission. This is typically done through either a choke or joint lock (there are no punches, kicks, knees, or elbows). Walking into any new gym is stressful and intimidating.
Mooresville Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a proud supporter of the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to keep us safe. That's why we are affiliates of the Adopt A Cop BJJ program.
Adopt A Cop BJJ is a nonprofit, donation based program that allows active duty patrolling police officers around the country to train at any Adopt A Cop BJJ affiliated academy and will pay 100% of the officer's membership until they reach the rank of Blue belt.Blue belt is the second ranked belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and on average it takes around 12 to 18 months to obtain.

This is by far the best Jiu-jitsu school I have trained at. The classes are well structured, there is always multiple highly knowledgeable coaches at the classes, and the school is full of great training partners. If you are looking to get better at Jiu-jitsu and live in the Mooresville area I highly recommend trying out Mooresville BJJ.

Mike and Luke have a great school here at Mooresville BJJ. I’m 50 and decided to take an intro class here after being interested in BJJ for a long time. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, and encouraging to me as I started this so late in life. The upper level students have the same vibe and are never condescending but always supportive and eager to help you learn. I enjoyed a couple months of the gi and no-gi classes here and never had a bad experience.
I’m sad that I’m moving away from the area, because I was really enjoying my time here and learning a lot. If you’re looking

I am brand new to jiu jitsu. I have been wanting to try it for years. Finally took the plunge. I couldn’t have picked a better school. The instructors are so knowledgeable and patient, great teachers and create a great environment to learn at your own pace. All the higher belts are so supportive and helpful. I can definitely see myself doing this for years to come.
I would highly recommend it to anyone. To get in better shape. Learn a great and useful martial art. And learn from great teachers/instructors. Thank you Luke for being a great teacher and for providing a place for people like me

I started taking my daughter to the kids class 6 weeks ago. My wife and I watched from the other side and were impressed with the coaching staff and atmosphere they have created. My kids love going to BJJ, so we made it a family affair. Now my Wife and I have started and are 4 weeks into our training and we love it! A new life skill is being added to the list. Thank you to Luke, Mike and the rest of the coaches at MBJJ. Very happy to be apart of such a great group. Thank you for being welcoming to a family that didn’t know what they were getting into. 💪🏽🇺🇸

My son attended Mooresville BJJ for about 18 months - minus some due to the pandemic closures. Even during the pandemic, they relayed messages to help the kids practice at home via group videos.
We loved our time during the pre-teen class and recommend it to kids of all ages. They not only teach the kids how to be safe while learning but also life skills, responsibility and respect.
We started BJJ to teach our son a bit more about how to defend himself if needed and to help with some anger issues we were having and it became a sport he has loved. We have since moved from the area and will continue

My son started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu approximately 4 months ago and he thoroughly enjoys it. During cLass, those with higher belts assist those with lower belts so that techniques are learned correctly. I feel that my son has received ample instruction at every class. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The class is very welcoming and students seem to feel at ease almost immediately. I would highly recommend this program.
