Darrail Abercrombie was born and raised in Chicago, IL. At 15 years old he began to use his creativity and love for animation to fufill his dreams of becoming a master barber. He has competed in serveral hair shows and competitions, as well as helped out in other various programs to benefit the community.
Darrail, a loving father, has used his trade and business to help promote education in the youth of our community. After over 15 years of mastering the trade, it became time to expand his business and brand. In November of 2016, Darrail opened up Edge it Up Hair Studio with the vision of more than a barbershop.

Vu is a gray barber and if he is not there then you can go to esai and if he’s not there you can go to Jose or Darrell they are all very good at there job great customer service, and always ready for an appointment if they are not booked. Would recommend this place!

Vu did a great job on my haircut. He’s very personable and great to talk to while getting my service. You can tell he’s passionate about his profession and is very detailed oriented when cutting my hair. The barbershop looked very inviting and clean.

Went a couple years ago, probably 2018. Called beforehand to see what the wait time was. Was told 15min. Walked in, waited like 45min - 55min, patiently. Some other customer walks in after me during this wait. The barber is now available so I'm getting ready to hop on the chair, closing time is approaching. The barber can see I'm getting ready to hop on the seat but then suddenly tells me that he's taking care of his cousin first. So i decide to just walk out.

I searched for a barber for years and years, and could never find one that gave me a good haircut & provided a positive environment to just talk. Then in 2019 I found Edge it Up Hair Studio. Darrail gave me the best damn haircut of my entire life, and I have NEVER looked back. I wouldn’t even THINK of going to another barber. Nowhere will provide you the best mix of professionalism, good prices, good conversation AND a 🔥 haircut like Edge it Up Hair Studio can.

Booking online was super simple. Jose showed up and got started right on time. He was extremely friendly and did an AMAZING job with my boy's hair. My son walked out with his jaw dropped. We were all very impressed. Will definitely be coming back.

Derrail was very professional and funny. It was my first time visiting Edge It Up Hair Studio. I was previously going to the busy shop on Drew (where only a couple of the barbers actually know how to cut, no names but is outrageously busy). I'm super picky about my haircuts, especially because it really angers me to pay someone for a service to only be disappointed in their work. It's not like you can just walk out on a barber because you didn't like their skills. Being from a big city you're spoiled with countless barbers that actually know what they're doing. Darrail
