Tiger Martial Arts Academy was founded in the year 2000, and has produced numerous black belt students and Olympians. Each of our certified masters are highly educated and have many years of experience in martial arts. Each student receives individual attention in a group setting from our friendly instructors.

For almost twenty years, we have been recognized throughout Northern Virginia, and our after school enrichment program has helped our local schools raise more than $10,000 since it began.

Services
Tiger Martial Arts' Taekwondo program provides age-matched, fun and exciting, and impactful martial arts instruction. Tiny Tigers experience fun and engaging, exciting Taekwondo classes like no other! Along with smiles and kicks, our classes also emphasize focus and the development of constructive learning and listening skills.
Here at Tiger Martial Arts, our Tiny Tigers experience hands-on, engaging Taekwondo lessons that are designed to be fun, exciting, and most importantly, rewarding. In addition to awesome martial arts skills, our knowledgeable instructors instill powerful life skills into our students' character. Our program is jam-packed with fitness activities, powerful kicks, and character building in a family-friendly, positive environment.
A foundation in martial arts will build great character and help maintain confidence and focus in school and at home. Junior Tigers classes are Tae Kwon Do classes specifically for children age 6 ~ 12 years old. The learning environment has a big impact on a child's personality. Experienced Masters, friendly instructors and our leadership team help each student improve and do their best toachieve their individual goals.
Martial arts is a great way to maintain and improve flexibility and overall physical fitness. Our Teens & Adults classes are high endurance Tae Kwon Do classes specifically designed for older students. These classes cover a variety of techniques including self-defense and sparring, but they are also much more than that.

I would not recommend. They do not take the safety of the children in their care seriously. My daughter hit her head and no one told me. My daughter told the instructor and he told her she was fine. She actually had a concussion. This was about a month ago. Then she got hurt again and wasn't allowed to sit down and was told to stand. This is not ok. We will not be returning.

We are really happy with the instructors and our son enjoys the Tiny Tiger program. We have not seen the behavioral gains we hoped after 7 months, but I can't blame the instructors for that.
Be careful of the pricing and hidden costs. Belt promotion costs are an additional $50, which caught us by surprise. You also have to sign up for a full year, which is tough with little ones who may lose interest. We have to power through the next 4 months or eat the cost.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. I only brought my 7 y.o. son here for the summer camp (took advantage of the early bird registration special). For the price I paid, what Tiger offered really couldn't be beat! This was my son's first time here and due to the fact it was located on the other side of town from us, he didn't know any of the other kids. I worried he wouldn't be happy there, but he loved it! This place is fantastic!!! The instructors really care about the development of the kids, not just in martial art but also as people! They have created a safe and structured environment where the students learn to work as a team to achieve their goals.
There are many taekwondo schools in the area but we travel a bit further to attend this school because of the environment they have created, the quality of teaching, and the awesome instructors!

My daughters have been attending Tiger Martial Arts for over a year now and they're always super excited to attend classes every week ! All the instructors are extremely helpful and attentive and truly care about the kids. Our girls are learning all about respect and discipline and thanks to TMA, they have become much more focused in school! Our family could not have been more pleased with their program. I just watched a full grown man publicly and viciously embarrass an 8-year-old boy. In front of his peers and a room full of parents, right before a belt test, this little boy was called out to the front and berated. His parents had no warning, and had, at the advice of the Tiger instructor the week before, paid for the testing. If you're wondering, the boy was sitting still, not talking, not misbehaving at all. He was called in front of the group and made to sit against a wall for past misdeeds, and told --loudly enough that everyone could share in his embarrassment-- that he was not welcome

Great instructors! My kids enjoy coming to practice all the time. They have established great relationships among all the students. Master Kim is such a sweet guy and does what he can do for you. The head instructor Ryan is great with the kids you can tell he enjoys doing this. Practice is Mon-fri different hours for the belts. They have family class where all belts are welcome to practice as a family, a very unique way of bonding families. I enjoy coming here and watch the kids practice. I recommend this for any family looking for a way to bond.

We love this place. it has helped our son Max a lot. He looks forward to going. He is learning a lot. the staff and main instructor are very very nice and welcoming and care a lot about our son Max. First they trick you into a long term contract. Then sell it to a third party. When your kid doesn't want to do it or if you are not able to continue; they refer you to third party who refuses to cancel the membership. DON'T sign up for more than a month go monthby month so you are free to stop when you need to. I told the master to take my son next door to kumon. He agreed then I came back it was not done. The master did not know where my son was.

These guys really care about the kids. Not only do they teach them proper techniques and discipline, somehow they make it fun and my kids want to keep coming back. Each child is valued by the Instructors and Masters. The kids respect them and take to heart every bit of encouragement they give them. It is such a positive environment and my kids continue to enjoy the classes. It is amazing to see such young children set personal goals and work towards them! Such a great life skill they are teaching.
