The Lofland Funeral Home has been serving families of Milford and surrounding communities since 1919. Joseph Lofland, Sr., the founder of Lofland Funeral Home, began his career working with A. G. Powders, owner of the Powders Funeral Home on N.W. Front Street, Milford.
In 1919, after attending Eckels College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph Lofland went in business with Mr. William A. Berry to establish the Berry - Lofland Funeral Home.In 1925, Mr. Lofland decided to go into business on his own, establishing the Joseph S. Lofland Funeral Home, located on the corner of East 2nd Street and Montgomery Street, Milford.

Michael was born in Baltimore, MD and was the son of the late Clarence and Connie Blackwell. Michael was a man of God and would tell you to love, forgive, and to not judge people for their past. He felt it was God's calling for him to mentor those in need and would even travel to St. Joseph's halfway house in Salisbury, MD to mentor and council young men.
William B. Carpenter, Jr., is a native of New Castle, Delaware. He is the son of Elizabeth Gebhart Carpenter and the late William B. Carpenter, Sr. Bill's funeral interest comes with deep roots. His Grandfather and Grandmother, Chandler H. and Mary Anna Fagan Gebhart established the Gebhart Funeral Home in New Castle, DE in 1919.

The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
