I hired Donald Porges to do my parent's tax return since I'm out of state. He charges $500 and you assume you're going to get guidance. His office didn't even set up a call forwarding or respond to email for a few months during the lockdown(?) Most egregiously, he didn't even file the tax return, something I only found out when his office called me in mid-October(last day to file). Now there is a further $1000 bill from the IRS for late filing. Terrible experience.
