Maria grew up in Queens, NY of Italian descent, feeling right at home with the Moda staff. She has been in the industry for more than 25 years! Specializing in up-do's, she has also mastered many different cutting and coloring techniques, utilizing Wella, Sebastian, and Kevin Murphy product lines. She is certified in Keratin Complex Smoothing as well as Brazilian Blowout Treatments.
Moda Hair Designs exclusive hair salon services utilize the latest technology in equipment and the finest products available, taking hair care to the next level. Trained in the latest techniques of hair design, color and conditioning; and through their own imagination and vision our stylists will personalize each look.
When booking online appointments, we do require you to select a 'finishing service'-meaning a haircut or blow dry after your chemical. Should you just need your color/chemical service done, please call the salon to book. Select stylists or services may require a deposit to hold your appointment. If you do not see the desired service available for online booking, please call the salon.

Wow ...and this is not a good wow... just moved here and my teenage daughter was looking forward to getting her hair cut. We picked this salon because they use Kevin Murphy. We came in for our appointment lady at front desk was friendly she went to get our stylist and this is where it went downhill. KB (Kristina) came up front looked us up and down and just said hi not friendly at all no smile and it was a strange greeting. Went in Saturday for a haircut for myself and my 6 year old daughter. Perhaps I should’ve inquired about their prices before sitting down in the chair but holy jeez! I was in the chair for all of 10 min and so was my daughter. We both have very fine hair and it was a blunt short cut. Nothing complicated. No shampooing. No color or highlights. Just a cut and dry. $116! As wonderful as the stylist was I’ll never be back. I don’t understand how you can charge upwards of $50 for a child’s haircut and not feel bad about it. As if it’s some magical hairstyle or experience. Outrageous. Just

I went in for corrective colour from Cari-she is truly amazing -my hair looks and feels gorgeous-Right from the beginning (the consultation) Cari took the time to really listen to me and explain how she could achieve what I was wanting for my hair-I highly recommend Cari for all of your hair care needs she is a pro!!! x

I've been to this salon three time, my daughter has been twice. I've walked out 2/3 of those times not happy but not so disappointed that I felt the need to complain. The hair looked okay, it wasn't what I asked for but I understand that it's not always possible to get the hair you wanted in the picture.
Today I used Deidra and she was amazing and for the first time I left feeling like I was given what I asked for. She explained the process, what was possible and she delivered.
My daughter had used her in the past and that was why even after leaving twice with "ehh"

This was the first time I got my hair cut by a professional and I loved it! The hair wash in the beginning was very relaxing and Linda did a great job giving me curtain bangs. I love them!!! She finished with a nice blow up and my hair feels silky soft and looks really good in my opinion! Anyways perfect first experience

I scheduled a free consultation this past Friday. I arrived at the set time and the front desk person told me the stylist was going to be 25-30 minutes behind my set time. I informed the stylist I wasn’t able to wait because of prior plans and received no response from her. Really disappointed because I wanted to give Moda and her a shot. I drove 1 hour collectively for nothing. As a new potential client, it doesn’t seem like they cared.

I am so happy I was recommended this hair salon, Jade is incredible she literally gave me what I asked for and she is so nice and professional, I just let her do whatever she thinks is best and my hair comes out looking flawless every time. The salon is beautifully decorated, the staff is very nice. Jenna is also very sweet and funny, she doesn't an amazing blowout and scalp massage! I recommend this salon now to everyone. I'm really impressed with their staff. Realistic photos help the stylists obviously. I have thick, curly, difficult hair to style and they did an amazing job first try. Best style I've gotten as a new client (sorry Orlando 💔). It usually takes three or four times before a stylist is really able to give me a cut that I'm happy with. I recently moved to the area and this will definitely be my new go-to spot for hair. Their COVID-19 policy is great. They're doing temperature checks, restrictions on number of people in the building and distance precautions. It's about as safe as we can be inside

I gave this place plenty chances. I would like to say though, my first experience at Moda was great. Leslie, who cut and faded my pixie did a phenomenal job. Keep going girl and leave Moda. Which leads me to explain where it went downhill, second time I went to get a fix on my pixie, Carrie I believed who 'faded' my hair did a terrible job (the photos I inserted is what she did) and I was charged 60 dollars for it. I found Stephanie about a year ago on Instagram and was instantly in love with her work. I’ve been to see her about 4 times now and love my hair so much every time I go. I’m a picky client who has a million requests and inspo pics and she takes her time to talk to me about every little thing and knows how to nail down exactly what I want! She’s so sweet and down to earth I always enjoy my time there. The salon itself is OCD clean and modern. The price isn’t super cheap.. but trust me, you do not want to mess with risking a cheap salon visit. I’ve had cheap salon visits that ruined me

Jade was very professional. Upon arrival she was ready for me and made sure we were on the same page for my color. She knew exactly what I wanted and achieved it beautifully. My hair was straggly and long over due. The last time I had my color was August of 2019 almost over a year. That’s how soft the blend was from when she did my first balayage. Not only did she make me feel comfortable she was very friendly but made sure I felt welcomed. The space was very clean and warm. The staff is also very professional. I’d give a 10/10 and recommend you give this amazing space a try.

In February I went in for a hair trim. After checking in, I noticed someone standing from across the room staring at me. She came to the front desk then slowly walked over to me while I was sitting down .
This women who I found out was the manager, said to me that her stylist was uncomfortable doing "kinky hair" and that she will "try" to find someone else who would be able to manage "my type" of hair.
I said my hair isn't anything more difficult than anyone else's. If I wasn't in a time crunch I would left at that very moment.

I asked for a balayage to be made out of what they previously did an ombre. I thought my base color was too dark. I explained this in detail. I wanted it lighter around my face.
Hairdresser (I won't mention name) said she could do some highlights to the top color and tie it in, so I agreed hoping she knew what I wanted.
I got WhitE pinstripes that didn't match the brassy bottom and looks like a 1990 home style cap job.
I had a different stylist Leslie do the Brazilian blow out. So once it was done and I saw the color, I was disappointed. The first girl came over and said it looked good

I Paid $370 and did not get what I wanted, and the salon was not amendable in resolving the issue or even issuing any type of refund. I called to speak with the manager in charge and rather than management handling the issue and try to make the customer happy; she let The stylist get on the phone, and instead of trying to resolve, it ended up to be an argumentative conversation.
Whenever there is an issue with a customer. Management should handle it, not the employee! I don't know where this manager received her management degree or hospitality, but this is not how you handle a dispute

I had to find a place to get a decent stylist. On the pricy side but I'm funny about my hair. So upon my 3rd visit I thought I'm going to get the Brazilian, I asked the stylist how much and she said $250. So I went in and got my roots covered and a few highlights. I was excited with summer coming up no frizzy hair. Wasn't what I thought, my hair is just limp and wavy. I wanted straight hair. So I walked out nearly $400. Lighter in the wallet and bummed. Moral of the story, maybe my hair was not appropriate for the Brazilian Blowout. It even had a funny texture to it ( my hair ) So

This review is for Rini who is the eyebrow threading queen. Seriously, if you need your brows threaded, go here and make an appointment with Rini.
I've been going to her for years. My 16 year old daughter goes and my 14 year old son gets his unibrow threaded. Yes, you men need to get that unibrow taken care of!
Rini can thread any part of your face too. If you have some chin hair or a peach fuzz mustache, she can take care of that for you.
I've never had my hair done here but the staff have all been very nice.
