La Cocina was started in 2003. Our first restaurant was in Acworth at the Publix center at Brookstone on Mars Hill Road. Soon afterwards we opened our Dallas location in the Kroger center at the intersection of highways 278 and 61. Our every effort is to make sure that your visit with us is as pleasing and enjoyable as possible.
We strive hard to make sure that your food is delicious and consistent and that your service can't be beat. We were once asked what brand of canned beans we used because they were so good. We only use freshest and finest ingredients. That's why our food tastes great! If you are not already, we hope that you will soon become our guest.

Services
Grilled steak, chicken and shrimp in a bowl, covered with cheese dip and served with pico and tortillas. The freshest ingredients perfectly mixed with avocado, mortar & pestle style, right in front of you. Ten perfectly cooked wings covered in your choice of our home-made Sweet, Mild or Hot sauce. Served with ranch or blue cheese, and celery.

Entering the restaurant, first impressions are lovely and charming. Each wall is a different color, and the tables are modern and simple.
Service is fast and amicable, and while the chips provided to us were warm and salty, the salsa I could speak less for. If you personally are not extremely picky about your salsa, don't worry about a thing. Myself I would rate it a 4/10. The heat level of the salsa is medium and pleasant, though it's overly watery and too salty to be enjoyable. Also beware, the prices here are quite high. Expect to pay between $10-16 before tip.

I came in and sat down and it took 15 to 20 minutes for service.
It took a long time to get my meal.
When I got my order it was wrong so I had to sit longer for my meal.
When I got the meal it still was not right but I ate it any way because I got tired of waiting.
Then my glass was empty and had to wait for service.
Servers are unfriendly.
I waited 20 minutes to get my glass refilled.
The floor was dirty under the table.
Good luck with your trip.

I have to first say that it's hard to find a good Mojito anyway! My friend and I have traveled many miles looking for a good one and so far this is the best thing about moving to Dallas!! This place has truly an amazing fresh Mojito! Also this place has a HUGE menu of different Americanized selections. We sat outside and weren't miserable. They have umbrellas that help and with the angle of the building, it kept the sun from making it miserable. I can't wait to visit again soon!

I've eaten here countless times and several years ago it went under new management. We are there twice but left our food. Hard to ruin Mexican food because it's pretty simple but they did. Now it appears they changed it again and the food is back to normal! I wouldn't say it's exceptional but it's decent and happy to be going back.

The food is usually okay but the rating as of 5/30/21 was an 87. I think that rating is inexcusable and when we were seated it made sense. They weren't busy, they had to clean a booth for us, the floor in that area was a mess! There were about 5 employees standing around talking, not one of them came over to take our drinks actually nobody acknowledged we were there so after about 6-8 minutes we left.
We live in the area and I won't go back, I'll drive another 10 miles to go elsewhere.

Pictures speak a thousand words, and I could kick myself for not taking one this afternoon.
I'm a one trick pony. When I find a dish I like, I generally order it again and again. So when it came time to order, it was a no-brainer: "chori pollo!" I said.
Look at the photo I originally posted. Today's portion was about one third the size. I complained to our server, who saw the meager piece of chicken. "I'm sorry," she repeatedly said. The manager ultimately came out. "I'm sorry," she echoed. "I'll have to tell

Always have the worst service and quality of food when I go.
This trip was the last time I'll go. Ordered an appetizer as the same time as my company did. About 15 minutes and the other persons entree comes out while I'm told that mine will be out any minute. 30 minutes rolls by and we get another "your food will come out any minute".
Finally after 45-50 minutes, my food comes out looking terrible and still cold.
Another 10 minutes rolled by waiting for the server, who was awesome, to ask if he could take it off my bill and that I didn't want it. He eagerly took it
